Please let me know what you think of it.
Part 1It’s been two years since Sonny Corinthos lost the love of his life. Now Sonny is all alone in his house with only memories of Reese Marshall to comfort him. As Sonny stands outside on the terrace, he remembers the first time he met her. She was so beautiful and tough. As Sonny smiles of memories of Reese, he hears a noise coming from inside the house. He goes inside and sees nothing. So he walks over to the bar and fixes himself a drink. He takes a sip of it, walks over to the couch and sits down. He puts his drink down on the coffee table and lays down on the couch and closes his eyes. For no more than two seconds, Sonny hears the terrace doors open. He quickly opens his eyes and sees her standing in the doorway. He stands up and walks over to her. Never taking his eyes off her. He’s two inches away from her face. “Reese, I missed you.” Then he kisses her passionately on the lips. Reese breaks the kiss and distances herself from Sonny.
“Sonny, you can’t keep doing this.”
“Doing what?”
“This. Taking to a dead woman. Sonny, people are already starting to think that you’re crazy.”
“I don’t care what people think as long as I’m with you.” Sonny moves closer to Reese and kisses her again. She breaks the kiss again.
“You need to move on with your life. Sonny…you need to let me go.”
“We both know that I can’t do that.” He walks over to the couch and sits down. Reese walks over to Sonny and sits on the coffee table, facing him. He looks down at the floor.
“Sonny, this is unhealthy for you and you know it. Look at me. Sonny…” She puts her hand under his chin and pushes it up, making him look at her. “Listen to me. You need to let go. I am dead. You need to accept that and move on with your life.”
“But what if I don’t want to.”
“Look, Sonny, I know how much you cared about me and I will never forget how much I loved you but you need to let go.”
“You don’t understand. Before the train crashed, I was so angry with you that I never had the chance to tell you how much I really cared about you. Reese…” He grabs her hands. “I love you.” He kisses her.
“Mr. Corinthos? Mr. Corinthos? Boss?” Sonny slowly wakes up and sits up on the couch.
“Yeah Max. What is it?”
“ Umm… Mrs. Alcazar is here to see you.”
“Let her in.” Sonny picks up his drink from the coffee table and takes a sip as Carly walks in.
“Sonny, are you ok?”
“Yeah I’m fine. I was fine when you asked me yesterday and the day before that.”
“Well you know what Sonny, you’re starting to worry me.”
“Really.”
“Yeah, really. First you have Max bring Reese’s things here, you don’t visit Michael and Morgan anymore, you’ve been sleeping a lot, you stay home all day, and then Max told me that you’ve been talking to yourself. So excuse me if I worry about you.”
“It’s not a big deal Carly. Just leave it alone.” Sonny takes another sip of his drink. Carly walks over to Sonny and sits down infront of him on the coffee table. “Don’t sit there.”
“Why not?”
“Because… Just don’t sit there.” Carly moves and sits on the couch next to him.
“Ok fine. I won’t sit there.”
“Thank you.”
“Look, I know that Reese’s death has been hard for you. It’s been hard on all of us.”
“No it hasn’t. You didn’t love her. You weren’t the reason why she is dead.”
“Reese’s death was an accident, Sonny. It wasn’t your fault.”
“Yes it was. If it wasn’t for me she wouldn’t have been on that train in the first place.”
“Reese made her own decisions. You didn’t force her to get on that train.” They just sit there in silence for what seemed like forever. “Sonny, It’s been two years maybe you should start thinking about dating again?”
“No.”
“Look, Sonny, Reese loved you. She would want you to move on with your life. Spend some time with your children. They miss their father.” With that, Carly leaves.
Meanwhile, over at the metro court, Noah Drake and his pregnant Wife check into the hotel. While they are at the front desk, they are spotted by Lorenzo Alcazar. As he watches Noah’s Wife, he could have sworn that she was Reese Marshall but he shakes that thought out of his mind because he knows that she died two years ago, or so he thought. Lorenzo approaches them. “Hello, I’m Lorenzo Alcazar. Are you new to Port Charles?” He extends his hand to Noah and he shakes it.
“Hello. I’m Noah Drake and this is my Wife Charlotte. And to answer your question no I’m not new here. Actually I used to live here years ago.”
“What about you, Mrs. Drake?” Before she could even open her mouth, Noah interrupted her.
“No. Charlotte has never been to Port Charles.”
“Really. Are you sure?”
“Yes. Positive. Why do you ask?”
“It’s just that she looks a lot like someone I used to know. But it’s impossible.” It was the first time Lorenzo heard Charlotte speak.
“Why do you say that?” Lorenzo was now even more certain that the woman standing infront of him was Reese Marshall.
“Well because she died two years ago.”
“Oh, well I’m sorry for your loss.” Noah starts to gently usher Charlotte over to one of the elevators.
“Yeah, me too. It was nice to meet you Mr. Alcazar.”
“Nice to meet you too, Mr. Drake.” As soon as Noah and his Wife were out of sight, Lorenzo quickly takes out his cell phone and calls Carly. “Carly, It’s me. I need to see you. It’s important. It’s about Reese.”

Part 2
As Lorenzo waits for Carly, he calls his men and orders them to find any information they can on Charlotte Drake. When he sees Carly walking towards him, he puts his Cell phone away and stands up. Carly sits down and Lorenzo pushes her chair in and sits down. “Hey, So what did you want to talk to me about?” Carly asked.
“How’s Sonny? Did you see him today?”
“Yes I did.”
“And? How is he?”
“He’s getting worse. Lorenzo, he’s starting to scare me.”
“Really? How so?”
“Well, not only does he dream about her but he’s starting to talk to himself.”
“So what are you going to do about it?”
“I don’t know.” She pauses for a few minutes and continues. “Why do you care what happens to Sonny? I thought you hated Sonny?”
“You’re right. I could care less what happens to Sonny, but I know that you care about him and right now he’s going through a difficult time.”
“Right, but that still doesn’t explain why you asked me here. I doubt you wanted to know how Sonny’s doing, so why did you ask me here?”
“I asked you here because this morning when I was here in the lobby, I noticed a man and a woman checking in.”
“So? What’s the big deal? People check into the Metro Court all the time.”
“The woman looked exactly like…Reese Marshall.”
“That’s ridiculous Lorenzo. Reese Marshall is dead.”
“I know. I thought that it was ridiculous at first, but I met her and she sounded exactly like Reese.”
“Ok, so this woman…”
“Charlotte.”
“This woman Charlotte, looks and sounds exactly like Reese. That still doesn’t prove anything. If she really were Reese then why would she pretend to be dead? And if she were pretending then why would she ever show her face in Port Charles? It just doesn’t make sense.”
“Why not? She’s faked her death before.”
“That was different. Her mother wanted to stick it to her father so she told him that Reese died in the accident.”
“What about Reese coming to Port Charles to get revenge on you? That’s probably why she faked her death again, so she could get revenge on you.”
“Again that was also different. When Reese first came to Port Charles, no one knew who she was, not even me because she had to have plastic surgery done on her face. If she were here for revenge, why would she come here looking exactly the same, knowing that she will be recognized by everyone here.”
“True, but what if she doesn’t remember being here?”
“You cannot just let this go, can you?”
“No, I can’t.”
“Let me help you. Reese is dead. Just let it go.”
With that Carly takes a sip of Lorenzo’s drink and they both sit there in silence for a few minutes until Lorenzo’s phone rings. He answers it. “Yeah… Are you sure… Ok thanks.”
“What was that all about?”
“That was one of my men. I had them find information on Charlotte Drake.”
“God Lorenzo, just leave her alone. She’s not Reese.” Carly starts to get up.
“She might be.” She sits back down.
“All right. I’m listening.”
“Ok, two years ago a Jane Doe was brought into an emergency room in New York City by a man who was never identified. She was in a coma for three months and when she woke up, she didn’t know who she was or what she was doing there. The only name she could remember was Charlotte. So the doctors assumed that that was her name.”
“Ok, that would explain why she doesn’t remember anything but what I don’t understand is how she could have survived the train crash.”
“I don’t know. I still haven’t figured that out yet but everything else fits.”
“You’re right. It does fit but that still doesn’t prove that she’s Reese Marshall.”
“Fine. Just forget I even mentioned it.” Lorenzo stands up and starts to walk but Carly stands up and stops him.
“Wait. How does Noah Drake Fit into all of this?”
“He was one of the doctors that helped treat her. They’ve been married a year and they’re expecting their first child.”
“Lorenzo, look, it’s nothing personal. It’s just that I don’t want to get Sonny’s hopes up. If I tell Sonny that there’s a chance Reese could still be alive and it turns out that she’s not, it will completely destroy him.”
“Ok, I understand, but will you at least give it some thought?”
“Ok, but right now I have to go to the hospital and visit my mom. I’ll see you later. Bye.” Carly leans over and kisses Lorenzo lightly on the cheek and starts to walk over to the elevator.
“Bye.”
Carly gets on the elevator and presses a button. Instead the elevator goes up and the doors open, letting on another person. Carly stands there in shock as she watches the woman walk over and stand next to her. The elevator doors close. Carly just keeps staring at the woman and wonders if Lorenzo was right. Could Reese really be alive?
“Are you ok?” This was the first time, in a long time that Carly was speechless. What was she suppose to say? Hi, my name is Carly Alcazar and I think that you’re my ex husbands dead girlfriend. If Carly was going to find out the truth, she had to be smart. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that I was staring at you. It’s just that you remind me of an old friend.”
“It’s ok. I’ve been getting that a lot lately.”
“I’m Carly Alcazar by the way.”
“I’m Charlotte Drake. Your husband wouldn’t happen to be Lorenzo Alcazar would it?”
“Actually yes he is my husband. How do you know?”
“Oh because my husband and I met him earlier today in the lobby. He also mistook me for someone else.”
“Who”
“Some woman…umm…Reese Marshall.” The elevator stops and the doors open. “It was nice meeting you Mrs. Alcazar.”
“Please call me Carly and it was nice meeting you too.” Charlotte gets off the elevator and gets in a cab. Carly follows her in another cab and starts to wonder if Charlotte really is Reese Marshall.

This is for Chantel:
Part 3
Carly follows Charlotte all the way to General Hospital. Carly decides to put her plan into action so she gets on the same elevator as Charlotte. Carly spoke first, giving nothing away. “What a coincidence. We end up in the same elevator twice.”
“Yeah, what a coincidence. Huh? So do you work here?”
“Me? No, umm… my mother does.”
“So you’re here to visit your mother?”
“Yeah. What about you?”
“My husband actually works here.”
“Oh, really? Who’s your husband?”
“Noah Drake.” Right then the elevator doors open. “It was nice bumping into you again.”
“Yeah you too. Maybe we’ll see eachother again soon.”
“Yeah, maybe.” Charlotte gets off the elevator and sees Noah talking to another doctor. She approaches them while Carly watches them from the nurse’s station, waiting for Bobbie. Noah turns around and sees Charlotte walking over to them.
“Hey, I missed you.” He gives her a quick hug and places his arm gently around her waist while a shocked and confused Monica watches. “Honey, there’s someone I want you to meet. This is Doctor Monica Qaurtermaine. Monica this is my wife, Charlotte.” They shake hands and Monica is not sure about what’s going on but she is sure that she wants nothing to do with it.
“So Charlotte, is this your first time here in Port Charles?”
“I’m not sure.” Monica looks at her confused.
“What do you mean your not sure?”
Noah speaks up. “Maybe I should explain.” He gestures them over to the waiting area and sits down on the couch next to Charlotte while Monica sits on the chair next to them.
“You see Charlotte has amnesia. She only remembers two years of her life. We tried everything we could to try and bring back her memory but nothing worked. That’s why we came to you. You’ve dealt with amnesia before. Is there anything you can think of that might help?” Monica looks at Charlotte.
“Have you tried therapy?”
They both shake their heads. “No.”
“What was the first thing you remember?”
Charlotte answers. “The first thing I remember was waking up in the hospital.”
“Is that all you remember? Do you remember anything before that?” Suddenly Noah’s pager goes off.
“Sorry ladies. I have to go take care of a patient. I’ll see you later.” He kisses Charlotte on the top of the head and leaves. Charlotte makes sure that Noah is nowhere in listening range before she answers Monica’s question.
“I do remember something but you have to promise me that you won’t tell Noah. I don’t want him to freak out, especially now that I’m carrying his child.”
“What ever you tell me is strictly confidential.”
“Ok. I had this dream a while ago but it seemed so real.”
“Where were you in this dream?”
“I was walking to a car outside of some house. I think it was a mansion because it was really big.”
“And what happened after that?”
“Well when I got to the car, I had my hand on the handle and I looked back to see a man standing behind me, watching me leave.”
“Did you recognize the man?”
“His face was a blur. I couldn’t really see his face that well.”
“Did anything else happen after that?”
“After I saw the man standing behind me, I turned back to the car and opened it and the next thing I remember was a bright light, like the car exploded or something.”
“Is that it?”
“Yeah.”
“Have you had any more dreams or memories?”
“None.”
“Ok, listen I want to talk some more but I have to go check on my patients. Here’s my card. Call me if you have any more dreams or memories. Ok? In the mean time I’ll try and figure out a way to help you in anyway I can.”
“Ok, Thanks Dr. Qaurtermaine.” Monica stands up.
“Please, call me Monica. I’ll see you later. And congratulations on your baby.”
“Thanks.”
With that, Monica leaves and Charlotte stands up and walks over to the elevators. Carly leaves Bobbie a message and joins Charlotte as she waits for the next available elevator. Carly notices that Charlotte is a little bit stressed so she decides to try and become her friend.
“Hey, is everything ok?”
“Huh…oh, yeah. Everything’s fine. What about you? Did you see your mother?”
“She wasn’t there. She’s probably at Kelly’s.”
“What’s Kelly’s?”
“Oh, it’s a diner that my mom owns. She also rents rooms there too. You know, you should go there some time. The food there is great.”
“I will.”
“Hey, I have an idea. Why don’t we go and have lunch together? I mean, if your not doing anything.”
“Ok. Sounds great.” They head over to Kelly’s. They go inside and see Ric sitting at a table, looking down at some papers in his hand. When Charlotte saw Ric, she couldn’t help but feel like she knew him from somewhere. Ric looks up and sees Carly standing next to a ghost from his past. Could she be alive? Ric thought.

Okay Lexi, I won't make you wait that long. Here you go:
Part 4
Carly noticed Ric staring at Charlotte. She just couldn’t let Ric ruin her plan. “Charlotte, why don’t you go and get us a table. I’ll be right there.”
“Ok.” Carly watches Ric stare at Charlotte.
Carly slowly walks over to the Ric and sits down across from him. “Carly.”
“Ric.”
“So who’s your friend?”
“That’s none of your business, Ric.”
“It is my business when you walk in with a woman who looks exactly like a woman who is suppose to be dead.”
“Don’t worry about it. It’s being taken care of.”
“Look, I know you don’t like me. You might even hate me but I cared about Reese. I watched her die in the tunnels. I have a right to know if Reese is still alive. So why don’t we cut the chase and tell me everything you know about this woman.”
“Fine. I’ll tell you but not here. Meet me at my house in three hours. Ok? And I’ll tell you everything you want to know, but first you have to promise me something.”
“Anything. What?”
“Promise me you won’t tell Sonny about this. Not yet anyway.”
“Why not? If there is a possibility that Reese is still alive then Sonny has the right to know.”
“He does deserve to know but there is a possibility that this woman is not Reese Marshall. She could still be dead and if Reese isn’t alive, then it will be like him losing her all over again and I cannot bear to watch Sonny get his heart broken again. So promise me you won’t go to Sonny with this. Not until I can prove that Reese is still alive.”
“I promise.”
“Thank you. Besides I could use your help.” Carly gets up and walks over to Charlotte and sits down across from her. They have a nice lunch and conversation. They spent the whole time talking about their husbands and children.
Meanwhile, someone outside Kelly’s was watching both Carly and Charlotte.
Carly kept thinking that this woman sitting in front of her was her enemy. Two years ago she hated Reese. The sight of her made her sick but things were different now. Charlotte didn’t know who Carly was. She didn’t know the awful things Carly had done to her in the past. Carly wanted to keep it that way because believe it or not, she wanted to be her friend again. She wanted Charlotte to remember who she was for Sonny’s sake but she liked talking to her as a friend. She really missed that. Not only that but Reese seemed different. She seemed happy. It hit her like a sharp pain in the stomach. Reese doesn’t remember losing her son. The pain she felt after her son had died had disappeared, along with her memory. Now Carly was even more conflicted over telling Reese the truth about who she really is. Carly new what it was like to lose a child and that pain just doesn’t go away but what if she could make Reese’s pain go away and keep it away? But then she thought about Sonny. Carly followed Reese back to the Metro Court and gave Reese her number and suggested that they have lunch together again tomorrow. She agreed and left. Carly went straight home to find Lorenzo and Ric waiting for her.

Part 5
As Carly entered her house, she saw Lorenzo standing by the window and Ric sitting on the couch. The minute Lorenzo saw Carly, he started walking over to her while he spoke. “Good thing you’re home. Do you mind telling me just what the hell is going on here? Why is he here?”
“Yeah, I would like to know myself.” Ric said still sitting on the couch. Carly chose her words very carefully.
“I will tell you everything. Just not right now.” Ric was getting tired of Carly’s charades.
“Did you find out anything else about the woman at Kelly’s?” Lorenzo looked at Carly, confused.
“What woman?”
“Charlotte.”
“The woman I saw at the Metro Court this morning?” Carly slowly nodded her head. “I thought that you said that she wasn’t Reese.” Carly chose her words very carefully.
“She’s not Reese. For a minute, I thought she could be but clearly I was wrong.” Ric finally spoke up again.
“What makes you so sure that this woman Charlotte isn’t Reese?”
“Look, I spent some time with her. If Charlotte was Reese, then she would have remembered me by now.”
“Remembered? She has amnesia?”
“Yes.”
“Then there is a possibility that Reese is still alive.”
“Didn’t you just hear what I just said? She should have remembered me by now.”
“Carly, Reese could have amnesia for months or even years.” Carly was getting really frustrated because Ric just wouldn’t let this go. “There is no way that this woman was Reese. When we were at Kelly’s having lunch, she was nice to me. Which is unusual because Reese hated me.”
“You’re right. She did hate you. But…” Lorenzo realized what Carly was trying to do so he cut Ric off.
“If Carly says that Charlotte is not Reese Marshall, then she’s not Reese. So just let it go and leave her alone.”
“What makes you so sure that Carly is telling the truth. She’s lied to you before. She could be doing it again.”
“I trust Carly and her judgment. Carly and Reese grew up together. Carly is the only one who knew Reese well enough to know if she is alive and is Charlotte…It’s time for you to leave.” Ric knew that something wasn’t right. Now it was all up to him to find out the truth about Charlotte. It was obvious that Carly knew the truth but wasn’t going to tell him. So now he had to find out all on his own. But first, he had to go see Sonny and see how he would react if Reese was still alive.
What will Ric do? Will he ever find out the truth about Charlotte? Will he tell Sonny? And who (or what) is responsible for Reese's amnesia?

Part 6
Ric stood in front of Sonny’s door for what seemed like hours. What would he say to Sonny? They haven’t spoken or seen eachother since Reese’s ‘funeral’. Ric was afraid of what he would find once he walked into Sonny’s house. A man completely consumed with grief and guilt over a woman he had treated like dirt. Ric knocked on the door. Max answered it. “I’m here to see Sonny. Is he here?” “Yes, but he’s busy.”
“Doing what?”
“I don’t know. All he told me was he did not want to be disturbed.”
“Well you know what I’m not a visitor, Max. I’m his brother and I need to see him now. It’s an emergency.” Max let Ric in and went into the living room and closed the door behind him while Ric waited. A few minutes later Max came out and told Ric to go on in. Ric walked slowly into the living room while Max closed the doors behind him. Sonny was quietly sitting on the couch with a drink in his hand and a picture of Reese with her son in the other. Ric stood there staring at Sonny. He hadn’t shaved in what looked like months. “What’s the emergency Ric?” Ric didn’t say anything. Sonny sat Reese’s picture down, took a sip of his drink, and whipped his head around to look at Ric.
“What the hell is it? Is Kristina all right? ”
“Yeah, she’s fine. She misses you.”
“Then what the hell are you doing here Ric?”
“I just came by to see how you were doing. Is that all right with you?”
“No, it’s not all right.” Sonny got up and took another sip of his drink. “First of all, it’s been two years since we last saw eachother. Two years, Ric. And now all of a sudden you come over here just to see how I’m doing. We both know that it’s something else so why don’t we cut to the chase and just tell me what it is.”
“All right. I’m here because of Reese.” Ric could see the anger in Sonny’s eyes once he said her name.
“DON’T EVER SAY HER NAME AGAIN ” With that, Sonny threw his drink at the wall behind Ric. Ric looked back behind him to see the broken glass then turned back to look at Sonny.
“Some things never change.” Ric said calmly. Just then, Max came in.
“Is everything all right, boss?”
“Yeah Max, everything’s fine. My brother was just leaving.”
“Alright, I get the message here Sonny. I guess we will never see eye to eye where Reese is concerned. But perhaps by some miracle, Reese will walk through that door and call us idiots for fighting like children.”
“There’s no such thing as miracles, Ric.”
“Oh, really? Well maybe someday you just might change your mind. I know I have.” Ric starts to walk to the door.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Ric has his hand on the doorknob, about to open it but stops and turns to face Sonny with his hand still on the door.
“Didn’t Carly tell you?” Sonny looks at him confused.
“Tell me what?”
“Reese is alive.” He thought he was dreaming. Sonny could barely speak.
“WHAT? She’s alive?”
“Well, not exactly. There is a possibility that it’s not her.”
“I can’t believe it. Why didn’t she tell me?”
“Carly didn’t want to get your hopes up. Or so I thought.”
“What do you mean?”
“Look, we both know how much Carly loves you. We also know how much she hated Reese. If Carly knows that Reese is alive, she will probably come up with one of her crazy schemes to keep you from finding out that Reese is alive.” Ric opened the door and walked out. Sonny walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch in shock. Was Ric right? Was Reese really alive? While Sonny was deep in thought, Carly walked in. She stopped and looked at the broken glass on the floor. Sonny looked over at Carly and watched her. He wondered if what Ric said was right. Did Carly know that Reese is alive and didn’t tell him?
“What happened here?” She asked.
“Ric came by.”
“Oh. And what did he want?”
“He claimed that he wanted to see how I was doing. But that’s not why he was here.”
“Then why was he here?”
“He wanted to talk about Reese.” Carly was afraid of where this was going.
“What about Reese?”
“Ric seems to think that she’s still alive.” Carly’s blood ran cold. Her face started to look pale. She quickly turned away from Sonny’s stare and bent down to pick up the broken glass from behind the desk. “Is there something that you want to tell me Carly?” She stood up and kept staring down at the ground.
“What do you mean?”
“What do I mean? You know exactly what I mean, Carly.”
“What did he tell you?”
“He told me that there’s a possibility that Reese is still alive and you knew all a long and didn’t tell me. Is it true? Is Reese alive?” “I’m not sure. But I think she is.”
“What do you mean ‘you think she is’? Either she’s alive or not. So which is it?”
“I told you I don’t know. This woman who looks exactly like Reese has amnesia. So there’s a very good possibility that she is Reese.” “Why didn’t you tell me Carly? Do you hate her that much you want to see her suffer? Is that it? Or do you want to see me suffer for wanting her and not you?”
“That is not why I didn’t tell you and you know it. I didn’t want you to be disappointed if it turned out not to be her. Besides, Reese suffered a lot when she was alive. She probably suffered more than any of us.”
“What’s your point Carly?”
“My point is that Reese lost a child. I know exactly how she felt. I thought Michael was dead. It broke my heart to see my little boy lying on the ground with dirt on him like he was dead. I would give anything to erase that memory from my mind. But you see Reese doesn’t have to remember her son dying or the pain and agony she felt all those years without her son.” Sonny said nothing. What Carly did was understandable but at the same time it’s costing him the love of his life. He had to see her now.
“Where is she?”
“Sonny I don’t think that’s such a good idea.”
“I don’t care what you think Carly. I want to see her now.” She sat there in silence for a while until Sonny got even more angry and impatient. “Fine. If you won’t tell me where she is, then I’ll find her myself.” He starts to walk to the door.
“Sonny, wait.” He turns to face her. “I’ll take you to her. But there’s something you should know first… She’s married.”
“You’re lying.” He walked to the front door and opened it.
“They’re having a baby, Sonny. If you don’t believe me then go see for your self.” Sonny stopped and stared at Carly.
“Let’s go. If you are lying to me about everything, I will make your life a living hell. I will make sure that you never see Michael and Morgan again.” Before they left, Carly grabbed the picture of Reese on Sonny’s table.
On their way over to the Metro Court Carly called Charlotte and asked her to meet her there. Carly and Sonny went inside and started looking for Charlotte. Sonny stopped dead in his tracks once he saw her. She was sipping a glass of water with her hand on her very big belly, stroking it softly. Carly spotted her and started to walk over to her. Sonny couldn’t move. He kept his eyes on her. Charlotte sat her glass down on the table and looked up and saw Carly.
“Hey.” She got up and Carly gave her a hug.
“Hi Charlotte.” Carly said, breaking away from their embrace.
“So what did you want to see me about?” Carly looked behind her and over at Sonny who was still staring at Charlotte. Then Carly looked back at Charlotte.
“There’s something I need to tell you.”
“About?”
“It’s about who you really are...Reese.”

Reese looked over at Sonny, then back at Carly. “Carly, what’s going on?”
“Listen, I know that it’s a lot to take in right now but you are not who you think you are…” Sonny shakes his head and walks over to Reese and Carly.
“Carly, we should wait to tell her when we’re somewhere private. So we can explain everything to her.”
“You’re right. Let’s go to your house.” Carly said.
“Wait a minute. Is someone going to tell me what the hell is going on?” Reese said with anger and confusion in her voice.
“I will tell you everything once we’re at Sonny’s house.”
“Who the hell is Sonny?”
“Reese, this is Sonny.” Carly pointed to Sonny.
“Do you remember me, Reese?” Sonny said.
“I’m sorry but I don’t know who you are or why you keep calling me Reese.”
“He’s calling you Reese because that’s your name. Look, I know your confused and scared right now but we should really be discussing this in private. So please let me take you somewhere where we can talk.” Carly started to guide her over to the elevators but Reese protested.
“I don’t know who you think I am, but I’m not going anywhere with you.”
“Please, just let me explain. Give me five minutes and if you still think that I’m crazy, then I’ll leave you alone for good. I promise.” This is crazy. Reese thought. But if she did what Carly asked then she would leave her alone and that is all Reese wanted, to be left alone. All she wanted to do was be with her husband and have her baby in peace.
“Ok but we can talk upstairs in my room. There’s no way I’m leaving here with either one of you.” Reese looked at Sonny and couldn’t shake the feeling that she knew him from somewhere. Reese, Sonny, and Carly headed up to Reese’s room. When they got there, Reese opened the door and walked over to the table and poured herself a glass of water. Sonny closed the door behind him once both he and Carly were inside. “You have five minutes and then I’m calling security.” Reese said and sipped her water slowly.
“Ok. Five minutes is all I need.” Carly began explaining. “About eighteen years ago I had a friend. We were so bonded that we would sometimes tell people that we were sisters.” Reese had a flashback to when she and Carly were on a football field hugging. She shakes her head and continues to listen to Carly. “I used to spend a lot of time with her and her family.”
“What happened to her?”
“One day we got into this huge fight and she got upset and jumped into her car. She was hit by a drunk driver and she died.” Reese started to have another fuzzy flashback where she was in her car and unconscious with blood running down the side of her face. Reese takes another sip of her water and tries to forget it. “Well…at least I thought she did.”
“What do you mean you thought she was dead?”
“Her mother told everyone that she died in the accident because she wanted to get back at Charlotte’s father. In the mean time, Charlotte was hurt so bad in the accident that she had to have plastic surgery on her face and her body.”
“So did you ever see her again?”
“Yes, about three years ago she came here to Port Charles for revenge.” Reese sees herself turn around with her hands up while someone has a gun pointed at her. She can almost see the face but it’s too blurry.
“Revenge? What did you do to that made her want revenge on you?”
“I did one of the worst things you could do to your best friend. I broke up her family by sleeping with her father.”
“Oh My God! Why?” Reese said sitting down on a chair. She has another flashback to where she walks in on Carly and her father in bed.
“Well, I was young and adopted. All I wanted was a father like Charlotte’s. But I never wanted to hurt her.” Carly sat down on the couch next to the chair that Reese was sitting in. Sonny walked behind the couch and over to the window.
“Then why on earth would you sleep with her father?”
“He seduced me. He told me that I was beautiful and…I what can I say? I was young and vulnerable. That was one mistake that I wish I could take back.”
“So did she ever get her revenge?” Carly looked down, then back up at Reese.
“She started to, actually she didn’t even have to try that hard. When she first came to Port Charles, I didn’t recognize her. She looked like a stranger to me. Not only that but she changed her name. She was an FBI agent sent here to find Sonny’s missing children.” They both look over at Sonny. The face starts to come in a little clearer in Reese’s flashback but it’s not clear enough to make out. Then they look back at each other and Carly continues. “She got so close to Sonny that when all of his children were found, she stayed and started to get emotionally involved with Sonny.”
“That is all fine and dandy, but what does this all have to do with me?”
“She died in a train crash but the thing is, the body in her casket…isn’t hers.”
“So you think that I’m your old dead friend? How is that possible? You just said that she’s dead.”
“Well, I thought she was dead for sixteen years and it turned out that she wasn’t. If she can fake her death once, she can do it again. But I don’t think that you even know who you are so why would you fake your death and lie about it, right?”
“What’s your point Carly?”
“My point is that you don’t remember who you are so…” Reese quickly jumps out of her seat.
“Wait a minute? What do you mean I don’t know who I am? I am Charlotte Drake.” Carly stands up and faces Reese.
“I mean you have amnesia, don’t you?”
“How did you know that? I never told you that.”
“I heard you talking about it with Monica Qaurtermaine.”
“You were listening in on my conversation?”
“Please just hear me out. Ok? I think that someone did this to you.”
“Why would anyone be so cruel and do this to me? What motive could they possibly have?” Carly stays silent as Reese studies her then turns to face Sonny, who is still looking out the window. “Why are you here?” Sonny stops starring and turns around to face Reese.
“I…I loved her.”
“Who? Carly?”
“No. I loved Reese…You”
Just then flashes of memories hit Reese like lightening. She squeezes her eyes shut and sees her and Sonny’s first kiss at Grey Stone. Then the shoot out with Faith at the church and then she remembers Sonny following her out to her car just before it blew up, then she sees herself sing a lullaby to Michael, she remembers the first time she and Sonny made love, the fights they had, as well as the fight at Kelly’s between her and Carly, and her secret with Ric coming out, Sonny dumping her, and then the last thing she sees is a man standing over her in the tunnels saying something to her. The only thing she could make out was “He will pay and you’re gonna help me whether you like it or not.” Reese starts to feel lightheaded and then she feels a sharp pain in her stomach. Carly rushes over to her side and keeps her from falling to the ground.
“Reese, are you okay?”

Part 8
Reese was in so much pain that she could barely answer Carly. “My baby…something’s wrong with my baby.” She said while holding onto her stomach, wishing that the pain would stop.
“Sonny” Carly said while Sonny made his way over to the other side of Reese. “We need to get her to a hospital.” With that Sonny picked up Reese and carried her over to the elevators and to his car. Carly drove while Sonny stayed by Reese’s side and held her hand. Reese was breathing hard and deep. In between breaths she managed to get a sentence out.
“Sonny…I remember. I remember everything now.” It was those very words that touched Sonny’s heart so deeply that he felt as if the love of his life was back in his life. But what he doesn’t realize is that they have a long road ahead of them. Just then, they arrived at the hospital and Sonny carried Reese inside. Once they got off the elevator, Sonny yelled for help and the nurses came over and took Reese away in a wheel chair. Carly and Sonny waited for hours until Monica finally came out and approached them. “How is she?” Sonny asked.
“She’s fine. Charlotte, or should I say Reese, gave birth to a beautiful healthy boy.”
“Can we see her?”
“Well, considering all of the trauma that she’s been through, I don’t think it’s a very good idea for Reese to have visitors right now. Maybe in the morning once she gets some rest. She just learned who she is and she might feel like she’s being pressured into remembering everything else.”
“Everything else? What do you mean everything else? Reese told me that she remembered everything.”
“That’s impossible. There is no way that she could have remembered everything. She had amnesia for two years. It will take a lot more time for Reese to remember her entire life.”
“Are you sure?”
“Sonny, I’ve worked with patients who have had amnesia for years. It took them a while to remember their entire life. Sometimes they remember bits and pieces here and there and sometimes they remember chunks of memories. But never all at once.”
“How long will it take Reese to remember everything?”
“I don’t know. No two patients are alike. It could take weeks, months, or even years.”
“Ok, thanks Monica.” Sonny watched Monica leave and looked over at Carly who was sitting down looking at a picture of Reese and Jamie. Sonny sat down next to her and stared down at the ground.
“I’m sorry Sonny.”
“It’s ok. I understand. You were only trying to protect Reese. But I have to warn you, I don’t think that she will understand after everything that the two of you have been through.”
“Do you think that Reese remembers her son?” Sonny looks over at the picture in Carly’s hand.
“I don’t know.”
“What if Reese doesn’t remember her son? Who’s going to tell her?” Sonny pauses for a minute and takes the picture out of Carly’s hand and stares at it.
“I will.” What would I say to her? Sonny thought. It was a hard task but someone had to do it. Considering the history between Reese and Carly it was better that He told Reese. After all she did love him, right?
The next morning, Carly and Sonny went straight to the hospital. They found Monica who was just about to go check on Reese. She took them to her room. When Monica opened the door, they found Reese’s bed empty. They looked over to the window and saw Reese sitting in a chair, staring out the window. Monica started to walk over to Reese while Carly and Sonny were over by the door, watching Reese.
“Hello Reese. Do you remember me? I’m Monica Qaurtermaine. I’m here to help you.” Reese seemed as if she were in a trance, in her own universe. She didn’t turn towards Monica as she answered her.
“I know who you are. You’re a doctor here at General Hospital.”
“And do you know who they are?” Monica said while pointing and looking over at Carly and Sonny.
“Carly Alcazar and Sonny Corrinthos.” They all looked at her weird because she didn’t even turn around to see who it was.
“And how did you know that without even looking at them?”
“I heard you talking outside just before you came in. Besides, they are the ones who brought me here. I knew that they would come by and see me, especially after what happened before I went into labor.”
“You remembered who you were.”
“That’s right.”
“And how much do you remember?” After a long pause, a teardrop falls down Reese’s check. “That’s quite alright. I’m sure that your overwhelmed with everything right now so I’ll come by and check on you a little later. Okay?” Reese wipes the tears from her face as Monica leaves. Carly walks a little closer to Reese.
“So how are you feeling?” Reese stops crying and looks over at Carly with pure hatred.
“How do you think I’m feeling?”

O.k O.k. - you need to apply for the writing team of GENERAL HOSPITAL. It is sad to say but you put the GH writers to shame. If, only they would have used some creativity when it came to Reese's death. A train wreck [which was a re-written story line that Phellps used on her days on One Life To Live.
Just wanted to let you know what a fantastic story. I was riveted.

Part 9
“I can’t even begin to imagine how you must be feeling right now.”
“You got that right.” Reese said while standing up. She walked over to her bed and sat down.
“Look, I know that you’re angry with me right now but I only did what I did for you.”
“Excuse me?”
“I just want you to know that I never meant to hurt you.”
“You…” Reese took a couple of deep breaths to control her anger. “You lied to me. You acted like I was a stranger, like you didn’t even know who I was. You pretended like you were my friend…”
“No, no, that’s not what happened. Reese please let me explain.”
“Tell me something Carly. How long did you know?”
“Since the first time I saw you at the Metro Court. That’s when I followed you to the Hospital where I over heard your conversation with Monica.”
“So you knew who I was for weeks. And you didn’t even bother to tell me what I have been dying to know for two painful years of my life.”
“I didn’t want to cause you anymore pain. I didn’t want you to have to relive the pain you went through when you lost Jaime.” Reese looked at Carly with a confused look on her face.
“Who’s Jaime?”
Sonny walked over beside Reese while Carly stayed in shock at the front of the bed.
“Is someone going to tell me who he is?”
“Reese, Jamie is…” Carly started to grab the picture out of her purse. Sonny stopped her. “Carly maybe I should be the one to tell her.”
“Tell me what?” Carly now had the picture in her hands. There was an akward silence in the room until Reese couldn’t take it anymore. She quickly moved over to the edge of her bed where Carly was. Then she snatched the picture out of her hands just as Sonny came up behind her and grabbed her waist with both of his arms.
“No, no, no, Reese. Let me tell you who he is.” Sonny grabbed the picture out of Reese’s hands.
“Nooooo!!!” Reese screamed as she started to struggle with Sonny for the picture. She managed to get the picture back. “I gave you plenty of time to…” With Sonny’s arms still around her, Reese looked very carefully at the picture of her and Jamie. It only took her a minute to realize who he was and to remember what happened to him. “Nooooo! MY SON!!!” Reese started to cry hysterically in Sonny’s arms. “My little boy. I can’t believe I forgot my little boy.” Carly and Sonny had tears pouring down their faces as they watched Reese break down and cry right there in front of them.
“Now do you understand why I didn’t tell you?” Carly said softly as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
“What?” Reese stopped crying and shook Sonny off of her and gave Carly a cold stare that sent shivers up and down her spine.
“I didn’t want you to remember losing Jamie.”
“Oh my god Carly. You are unbelievable. Are you really that selfish and cruel?”
“Reese, I lied to save you, to protect you from the pain of losing Jaime all over again.”
“Are you serious? You lied to me for weeks and your trying to tell me that you did it to protect me? Unbelievable.”
“It’s the truth.”
“No it’s not Carly. Tell the truth for once. We both know why you lied. Come on just admit it. You did all of this just to keep me away from Sonny.”
“No it’s not Reese.”
“You see you played all of us. You knew that Sonny was still grieving for me and that he was supposedly in love with me, so he would never see a ‘dead’ woman walking on the streets. Then you pretended to be my friend… You know that old saying right? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. And that’s what you did, you made sure that I would never find out the truth or see Sonny. I got to hand it to you. That was a brilliant plan.” She said while clapping. “Until your perfect plan fell apart.” She suddenly stopped clapping. “But I’m curious as to what made you want to tell the truth… So tell me Carly, why did you choose now to tell me who I am?”
“She did it because of me.”
Everyone looked over at the door to see Ric standing there. “I told Sonny and I’m guessing that he confronted Carly about it.” Reese was so shocked at Ric’s confession that she could barely speak.
“You knew?”
“Yes, I knew.” Everyone could see the pain and anger in Reese’s eyes. It was like she was about to explode.
“Get out.”
“Reese let me…”
“Explain? Save it. I’m sick and tired of hearing nothing but lies. Just get the hell out. All of you. NOW!!!” Reese demanded.
“Reese, we just want to help you.”
“I don’t want to hear it. It’s probably just another lie.” Reese reached for the Nurses Assistance button.
“Okay, but don’t think for one second that I’ll give up that easily.” With that said, Ric left.
“I’ll give you some time to cool down and I’ll be back later.” Carly started to walk out as Reese yelled at her.
“Don’t even think about coming back and telling me more lies.” Sonny waited to speak until Reese stopped yelling and looked up at him. “Well…what are you waiting for? Are you going to lie to me too?” Reese asked him in a harsh tone. Sonny just shook his head and walked over to the door. When he opened it, he stopped and paused for a second. Then he looked over at Reese.
“For the record, I never lied to you.” As he walked out and closed the door behind him, Reese burst into tears.
Reese was crying so hard that she cried herself to sleep.
Noah came in shortly after she fell asleep and just sat there, watching his wife sleep peacefully. About five minutes later, a man opens the door and closes it behind him. Noah doesn’t turn to see who it is. “Your wife had better keep her mouth shut.”
“Don’t worry.” Noah said.
“There are rumors going around saying that she remembers who she is. And if she remembers what we did, then your dreams of a happy life with ‘Charlotte’ are over and my dreams of finally nailing the great and almighty Corrinthos are also shot to hell.”
“She doesn’t remember that and thanks to this…” Noah pulls out a needle and uncaps it. “She will never remember it.” Then he goes over to Reese’s ivy bag and just when he’s about to inject her, a knock on the door stops him. Noah quickly hides the needle in is coat as the door opens.
“Sorry to interrupt…” Monica pauses before finishing her sentence. The man standing next to Noah shocks her. “Durant? What are you doing here?”

Part 10Suddenly Reese wakes up and sees a man she would rather forget. “What’s going on?” Reese asked, while looking at everyone. “Reese, do you remember this man?” Monica said while pointing at John Durant.
“How could I forget? He’s Carly’s biological father. He’s been trying to find a way to incriminate Sonny so he can have the satisfaction of taking down one of the biggest crime lords in Port Charles. Isn’t that right, Durant?”
“It’s good to see you still have your memory back…and your so called love for Sonny.”
“Who said anything about loving Sonny?”
“Alright, I think it’s about time the two of you left.” Monica said.
“You know what Monica? I think you’re right. Be sure to say hi to Sonny for me.” He left.
“You too, Noah.”
“Oh no. I’m not leaving her alone again.” Noah said while grabbing Reese’s hand.
“I’ll be fine, sweetie. Really…Why don’t you go check on our son?”
“Are you sure your going to be alright while I’m gone?”
“I’m sure.”
“Ok.” Noah gave Reese a gentle kiss on her forehead and left. Reese closed her eyes while a few tears streamed down her cheeks. Monica shut the door behind Noah and walked over to Reese’s bedside.
“How are you feeling?” Reese wiped the tears from her eyes and cheeks. She opened her eyes and answered Monica.
“I feel great…I’m good, now that Durant’s gone.”
Monica looked carefully in Reese’s eyes. “How are you really feeling?”
“Not so good.” Reese said, looking down at her hands.
“That’s what I thought…So have you talked to Noah about what happened before you went into labor?”
“No, I haven’t but Carly and Sonny have. I’m not sure exactly what they told him but he knows that I’m Reese Marshall.”
“Why don’t you talk to him about it. You should be the one to tell Noah about who you really are, not Carly and Sonny.”
“That’s just it. I don’t know who I am anymore. I don’t even remember everything. Besides, Carly and Sonny seem to know more about me than I do.”
Just then, the door swung open. “So how’s my favorite step mommy doing?” Patrick smiled and walked into the room.
“Hi Patrick.”
“Hey. So how are you doing?”
“Good. I’m feeling much better.”
“Glad to hear it. So how’s my baby brother doing?”
“He’s doing good. Actually, he’s with your father right now in the nursery if you want to go see him.”
“Ok. I’ll stop by on my way out.”
“Where you are going?”
“Uh, I have a date with Robin Scorpio.” Patrick said, half way out the door.
“Oh. Well, Good luck.” Reese said with a smile.
“Thanks. I’m going to need it.” With that, he left.
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Well, it’s just that you keep sending everyone to go see your son and you have yet to even hold him. So when are you going to go see your son.”
“When I’m ready.” She snapped.
“You know Reese…” Monica started to walk to the door. She opened it and held onto the doorknob. “No matter what happened to you in the past, just know that you will always have your son and people who love you.” She shut the door behind her as she left to go check on other patients.
Reese rolled over onto her side and fell asleep dreaming of her son.
They were at a park in Washington. “Jamie, be careful. Don’t get too close to the edge.” Reese told her son, who was sailing one of his little boats over by the pond.
“I won’t Mommy.” Jamie yelled back to her. She sat back on the bench and continued reading her book. About five minutes later she called to her son.
“Jamie, honey, its time to go.”
“Ok Mommy.” He grabbed his boat out of the water and walked over to Reese. They started to walk to the car. “Mommy?” Jamie said while holding his mother’s hand.
“Yes baby.”
“Can we have pizza tonight?”
“We had pizza last night. Tonight we are having broccoli and potatoes.”
“Mom.” He whined to his mother. She smiled down at him. “Why can’t we for once just have junk food for dinner, instead of vegetables?”
“We did, last night.” Jamie looked down at the ground disappointed as he continued to walk. “Alright, I’ll tell you what. If you eat all of your dinner and your still hungry enough for desert…then we’ll go out for ice cream later. How does that sound?” He let go of her hand and went infront of her to give her a hug.
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Mommy?” Jamie said looking up at her.
“What?”
“I love you mommy.” She looked down at her son and smiled.
“I love you, too baby.”
Reese woke up and cried. She missed Jamie so much that it hurt her. She couldn’t even go hold her baby. Reese continued to cry until she couldn’t cry anymore.
‘Never had I imagined living without your smile Feeling and knowing you hear me It keeps me alive, alive And I know you’re shining down on me from heaven Like so many friends we’ve lost along the way And I know eventually we’ll be together (Together) One sweet day (And all that I know and I'll wait patiently to see you in Heaven)’The lyrics used at the end are from “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey

Part 11
Sonny had called Jason and Sam over to tell them everything that had happened with Reese. “Sonny, is everything alright? You sounded weird on the phone.” Jason said while walking into the living room at Grey Stone. Sonny just sat there and starred at the wall across the room.
“Reese is alive.”
“What?” Jason and Sam said at the same time.
“She has, or should I say had, amnesia.” By the look on Jason’s face, you could tell that this was a difficult subject for him. His amnesia had gone away but he still had trouble opening up.
“How could something like this happen?” Sam asked while sitting down on the couch.
“Well I don’t know how it happened either but every time someone tries to talk to her, she gets angry or frustrated. Which is why I wanted to ask you for a favor.” Sonny looked over at Jason.
“You want me to talk to Reese.”
“Please Jason. Would you do it for me?” Jason covered his face with his hands and let them slide down his face with a heavy sigh escaping his mouth.
“I don’t know Sonny.”
“Just talk to her.”
“What makes you think that she’ll open up to me?”
“You’re the only person she knows who has had amnesia. You know exactly how she feels. Look, I know that Reese isn’t your favorite person but she has gone through a lot these past two years. Plus Reese just had a son.” Sonny stood up and started to walk over to Jason and continued. “I don’t know if I ever told you but Reese had a son. He was about Michael’s age and he was kidnapped and murdered. The look on Reese’s face when she remembered the pain of losing him…was heartbreaking. She had to live through that pain twice and when I think about the pain I felt when we thought that Michael was dead…” He paused. “It pales in comparison. That was nothing compared to what Reese is going through right now. You know, you and Reese have a lot in common. She lost a son and you lost two children. Sam’s and mine unborn daughter and Michael. You were supposed to help raise them, remember? I’m sure you don’t need a reminder.” Sonny walked back over to the chair and sat down with one leg over the other. “Then there’s amnesia. When you first came to work for me, you did it because your family kept pressuring you to remember them, your childhood, and the accident that almost killed you.”
“Yeah…I felt like everyone knew who I was but I didn’t.”
“That is how Reese feels. She feels like she can’t trust anyone right now but there’s a chance she might trust you.” Jason paused for a few minutes and then nodded his head.
“Ok, I’ll try and talk to Reese.” Sonny let out a sigh of relief. He stood up, walked over to Jason and patted him on the back.
“Thanks. I really appreciate it, Jason. It means a lot to me.” Jason and Sam left for the Hospital.
When they got to her room, Monica came walking out. “Hey. Are you here to see Reese?”
“Yeah. Sonny thinks that I might be able to help.”
“He might be right but I must warn you, Reese is very emotional right now. She hasn’t even gone to see her son, much less hold him. Good luck, you’re gonna need it.” She left. Jason was about to open Reese’s door but stopped and turned to Sam.
“It might be better if I talk to her alone.”
“Ok. I’ll wait for you at home.” She gave him a quick kiss on the check and left. Jason stood there, not knowing what he was going to say to her. He didn’t even know her that well. He always thought that Reese was just another FBI agent. Not to mention a liar. Maybe there was more to Reese Marshall than he thought. He slowly opened the door. Once Reese saw his face, she became quickly annoyed.
“What are you doing here? Oh, let me guess. Sonny sent you here, right?” Reese said sarcastically.

“I take it you remember me.” Jason said while closing the door behind him and stood at the end of Reese’s bed.
“Yeah I remember you. You’re Sonny’s best friend and hitman. If he asked you to kill a room full of people you’d do it in a heartbeat. No questions asked.” He knew this wasn’t going to be easy.
“Is that all you remember about me?”
“What else is there to know?” Jason walked over to the chair next to Reese’s bedside and sat down.
“Well, why don’t we start at the beginning.” He paused and continued. “When you first came to Port Charles, you were a FBI agent looking for Sonny’s daughter Kristina, right? So you read his profile and I’m guessing you read mine too.”
“Yeah, so. What’s your point?”
“My point is that you know about the car accident I was in that almost killed me but instead it left me with...”
“Brain damage. I know all of this already. You got in a car with your brother A.J. who was very drunk. The two of you got in a car accident. You suffered from permanent brain damage with no…” She stopped talking once she realized what Jason was getting at. Jason knew that this was a difficult subject for the both of them but there was no turning back now.
“Your not the only one who suffers from amnesia. I’ve dealt with it for years, Reese. I know how you feel.” Reese looked at him as if he was completely clueless. Then she shook her head in disbelieve that he could possibly know how she felt. Jason continued. “You feel like everyone looks at you and expects you to remember your life before the accident but we both know that its more complicated than that. You feel somewhat pressured by everyone like they have great expectations that you feel like you can’t fulfill for them.” Jason had a few tears in his eyes.
“So now your telling me how I feel?”
“That’s not what I’m trying to do here Reese. I’m just letting you know that you are not alone in this, okay? I’m here for you if you need me. If you ever want to talk, just let me know. I promise I will never judge you.” Reese started to chuckle and talked in a cold tone.
“Do you really think that I bought all of that? You have absolutely no idea what I am going through.” She raised her voice high that she was almost yelling. “You don’t know what it was like to have someone who you thought was a complete stranger walk up to you and tell you that you are not who you thought you were. I had a past that I didn’t remember, an ex best friend that I’d like to forget, an ex-boyfriend I wish I had never met, and a son that I didn’t even know ever existed or died for that matter. So excuse me if I don’t believe for one second that you have any idea as to what I must be feeling right now.” Tears started to form in her eyes. He knew that if he blew up at Reese, then she would never talk to him. So Jason tried to be as patient as he could with her.
“Reese, I’m not saying that I know exactly what you are going through. What I am trying to say is that I know what it’s like to be angry and have resentment towards the people who are only trying to help. You think that if you push them away and try to forget the past then the pain and emptiness inside will just go away…I just don’t want you to make the same mistake I made years ago. Your situation is different from mine because now there is a child involved, David. That’s your son’s name, right?” Reese shook her head and wiped the tears from her eyes that were staring to fall down her cheeks. “Reese, he needs you and I know that you are keeping your distance from him, aren’t you? Look, I know that this is hard for you. Believe me, I know that it’s hard to let anyone in but for the sake of your son, do it for him. Open up to someone and let them know how you feel. It may seem like a difficult thing to do at first but I promise you that it will get easier and the pain will eventually disappear.” Reese started to cry uncontrollably and Jason, not knowing what to do, pulled Reese into a long embrace. She continued to cry into his shoulder for a few more minutes. ‘You keep these feelings, no one knows…And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45, Swimming through the ashes of another life No real reason to accept the way things have changed Staring down the barrel of a 45’
The next day Reese and her son were being released from the hospital. Reese got dressed and headed towards the nurses station were Noah was waiting for her with their son. Monica sees her walking down the hallway and stops her. “Reese, do you have a minute?”
“Ok Monica. What is it?”
“Well…look, I know that you’ve been through a terrible ordeal and you’re emotional right now so that’s why I think you should have talk with Dr. Winters.”
“You want me to see a therapist?”
“I know that it sounds crazy but she could really help you. Would you at least think about it? For your son.” Reese let out a deep breath before answering Monica.
“Ok, I’ll give it some thought but I’m not making any promises.”
