*Reese and Sonny had a daughter named,Katelynn. The father of the baby is Ric and Reese and Jax had become gret friends.and jax is katelynns uncle..durant and reese are good friends too
November 2003
It was finally over. She had full custody of her daughter, thanks to Judge Farmer, Jax,Ric, and Sam. Reese decided to make a fresh start. She took Katelynn and moved back to the city. Her old law firm had welcomed her back with open arms, thanks in part to Reese taking that payoff from Carly when she tried to run her out of town over a year ago. Blackmail had got her a more than generous salary, great medical benefits, plenty of vacation time, and a very plush apartment on the Upper West Side. Katelynn and she had settled into the perfectly peaceful life of single mother and her beautiful little girl. They'd take long walks through Central Park and shopping trips to FAO Schwartz, and Baby Gap. Normal stuff. Reese loved the way her daughter's eyes lit up as she took in all the sights and sounds that New York City provided in abundance. She was finally happy, they both were, but one thing was missing. Loath though she was to admit it, she missed Sonny. In spite of everything they had done and said out of fear, anger, and pain he would always be it for her. Durrant came around a few times a month when he could get away from work for their catching up talks. He was good company, and took the edge off. She was a woman with needs after all. She never met with him at home. Reese never wanted to confuse her daughter as to what role he or any other man played in their lives. Katelynn only had one father and until it was possible for him to be that, there would be no one else filling his shoes.Reese owed him at least that much.
December 2009
"Hello?"
"Hey Reese."
"What can I do for you Jasper?"
"You can get my mom off my back and come join us for Christmas.
"I don't know Jax."
"Can we Mom? PLEEEEEASSEEE!" Katelynn begged into the phone.
"Katelynn Marshall what have I told you about eavesdropping. Hang up the phone right now. And you can stopping laughing anytime mister."
"Come on Reese. It'll be fun, and besides it's your turn to come here."
Seeing Katelynn walk by and run into the kitchen she whispered, "I don't know Jax. I'm just not comfortable with this. I really don't want to run into Sonny," she said.
"You won't. I didn't invite him to Christmas dinner."
"That's not funny!"
"Yes it is. It will be fine just come please," Jax begged.
"Alright fine. We'll see you next week."
"YEAH!" Katelynn's happy squeal pierced their ears.
"Katelynn!"
"Bye Uncle Jax!" she said quickly, hanging up the phone in the kitchen.
"See ya soon Reese."
"Yea see ya." Reese hung up the phone and went in search of her daughter. The quick closing of her bedroom door gave her away. She took a deep breath, and opened it. Reese tried to hide her smile as she saw her daughter in bed with the covers pulled up just under her eyes. Those mischievous twinkling brown eyes so much like her father's.
"Don't be mad Mommy."
"So it's mommy now is it? And I'm not really mad, but I would like you to do as I ask the first time."
"I promise I will from now on Mommy." Katelynn sat up and put her arms around her mother's waist and hugged her tight. "Mom who's Sonny and why don't you want to see him?"
Reese closed her eyes and sighed heavily. "Sonny was a friend of mine a long time ago."
"Is this him?" she asked, pulling the picture from the drawer of her nightstand.
"How did you get this?"
"The other day when you asked me to go get your new black Manolo's out of the closet. You only have like fifteen pairs so I had to look real hard for them. I didn't see them right away, and then I saw a shoebox at the back of the closet that said Manolo Blahnik so I opened it. No shoes, just a bunch of papers and this picture. He's cute Mom. Was he your boyfriend?" Kristina asked.
"No he was not my boyfriend. I was his lawyer."
"And?"
"And what Katelynn?" Reese tried not to sound frightened, but if her daughter asked for the truth she knew she would give it to her.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want too Mommy. Please don't cry," she said looking up at her mother's eyes shimmering with tears. Katelynn didn't let on that she knew her mother cried at night in bed when she thought she was sleeping.
"I'll tell you whatever you want to know sweetheart. I'm sure you have questions."
"So this man in the picture is he my Dad?"
"Yes baby he is."
"I look a lot like him."
"You look exactly like him," she clarified. The only thing she's seemed to inherit from Reese was her smile, and the dimples that were mutually inevitable.
"Did he die? Is that why you're sad?" Katelynn asked as she took hold of her mother's hand.
"He didn't die sweetheart. He doesn't know you are his daughter, and that makes me sad."
"Why doesn't he know?"
"Because I lied to him. When he asked if you were his child, I told him that someone else was your daddy."
"Why?"
"Because Sonny's job is very dangerous, and you could get hurt. He's a good man, but the people around him are very bad, and would try to hurt you."
"Why?"
"They just would, and I couldn't take the chance with your life. I love you too much."
"I love you too. Would he love me if he could?"
"Yes baby he would. He would love you so much," Reese cried as she held on to Katelynn for dear life.
"Are we still going to Port Charles for Christmas?" she asked.
"If you want to we will."
"I do. It'll be ok Mom. Try not to worry so much," Katelynn said as she rubbed Reeses'back.
"I'll try. Promise me that you'll come to me if you want to know anything else about your father."
"Will you introduce me to him, I just want to see him once. I promise I won't tell him he's my daddy."
"Honey if he takes one look at you he'll know your his daughter, and he doesn't like me very much anymore."
"Why wouldn't he like you? Everyone likes you."
"He got very upset when I told him you weren't his. This was before you were ever born."
"So he wanted me to be his?"
"He wanted that very much I think."
"That means he really liked you mom, if he wanted your baby to be his baby. I bet he doesn't dislike you as much as you think."
"I'd rather not find out."
"Can you at least point him out to me if you see him?"
"Yes I'll do that much."
"I only have a few more questions," Katelynn said.
"Ask away."
"Does he have other kids?"
"Yes, he has two sons. Michael and Morgan."
"I have brothers! That is so cool."
"Last question?"
"Is he married and do you still love him?"
"That's two questions, and no to your first. To your second that's none of your business."
"You must love him Mom. You told me most babies are born out of love, and that I was born out of love."
"Geez you're persistent. If I tell you I loved him will you drop this please?" Reese asked.
"So you do love him! Ok I'm dropping it now."
"Thank you. Now I don't know about you, but I could go for a big hot fudge sundae. What do you say we head to find you a new dress for Christmas dinner?"
"How about we go shopping Oh yeah and the most important thing about this shopping spree.....no dresses."
"Well I tried," she said as she kissed the top of her dark haired little tomboy's head, and brushed her hand over the unruly cascade of waves and curls Katelynns had pulled back into a ponytail.
~~~~~~~
"I'm going to have to rent a U-Haul to take all this stuff back to the City with us. You spoil her too much Jax, but I'm not going to tell you to stop." Reese told him later that evening as they sat around the fireplace after putting the kids to bed.
"Well somebody's got to do it."
"Katelynn asked me about Sonny, Jax."
"I'm not surprised. She very inquisitive, and too smart for her own good."
"I like her that way," Reese said in daughter's defense.
"What did you tell her?" he asked.
"The truth as best I could. She's curious Jax. She'll want to know more, and eventually if not sooner want to know him. She's eight years old. She needs her father, but never having one she doesn't know what she's missing."
"There's always Durrant. He loves you and Katelynn."
"He loves me. He barely knows Katelynn. When he comes to visit I don't bring him home if you get my drift."
"Why not?"
"Because Katelynn has a father, and it's either going to be Sonny or no one at all."
"That's a little selfish. Katelynn has the capacity to love more than one person, and feel the difference between each kind of loves."
"Maybe I am selfish, but I've taken so much more from Sonny than he has from me. It's the least I can do." Reese said taking a sip of her coffee.
"I beg to differ. You've yet to recover half of what he took from you Reese," Jax said, becoming angry.
"I'm fine. Katelynn 's fine. We're fine!" she sniped.
"Ok let's back up. I'm sorry."
"Me too. Just let this go Jax. She's my daughter, and I'll handle things my way."
"You always do, just be careful," he said as he kissed her chastely and headed for bed. "Good night Reese, Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas Jax."
~~~~~~~~~~
"Please don't make me go Jane," Alexis whined.
"It's the day after Christmas. Everything is half-off! Don't be silly, we must go."
"Take Katelynn .sheloves to shop. Reese and Jane laugh
I will stay here and catch up wirth jax said reese
" Katelynn! Let's go before all the good bargains are gone!" she exclaimed. In a whirlwind two of them were out the door with a few hollered good-byes.
~~~~~~~~~
"Grandma(AKA JANE), can we go in the Learning store next?" Katelynn asked as she gazed through the glass case at all the jeweled rings, bracelets, and watches. They were very pretty, but she was becoming bored. She already had a pretty necklace of diamonds and sapphires. Everything here paled in comparison. She smiled as she remembered all the times she and her mom had sat around in their fluffy white bathrobes, with their necklaces on eating popcorn as they watched a movie after bath time.
"Of course we can dear. I just want to pick something out for your mommy. She looks like she could use some cheering up."
"She'll tell you it's too much."
"Yes, but she'll accept it in the spirit in which it's given."
"I guess so," Katelynn said
"Pardon me I'm so sorry...Mr. Corinthos," Jane said as she met his eyes. Katelynn peered around Jane and looked up quickly, but averted to stare at his shoes. She bit her lip to keep from calling out to him.
"It was my fault. I wasn't paying attention. Merry Christmas Ms. Jacks," He gave a nod and was gone.
"Jane are you about ready?"asked Alexis
"Yes dear the man is ringing me up now."
"Good. We'll wait for you out front," she said.
Katelynn didn't let on that she knew they had literally bumped into her father. It was clear that Sam knew who he was by her nervous reaction. "Sonny Corinthos. That was my dad." She thought happily.
Jane told Jax and discussed the brief encounter with Sonny, and figured that since Katelynn didn't know about him that they were safe. They went on about their day of shopping, buying as much as the SUV would hold.
"We're home!" Jane called out as Jax emerged from the kitchen.
Katelynn ran to her mother and threw her arms around her waist and hugged the daylights out of her.
"Hey. Are you ok kiddo?" Reese asked as she returned her daughter's hug.
She nodded and hugged her tighter. "I love you Mommy."
"I love you too. Why don't you go get washed up? Dinner will be ready soon."
"You didn't let her try cooking again did you Uncle Jax?"
"Never. I learned my lesson last time. Good thing you dialed 911 or she would have burnt down the whole hotel," he said as he teased her.
"I know. Who knew you could blacken Macaroni and Cheese?" Katelynn said with exaggerated drama as she quickly kissed Alexis' cheek and went to clean up.
"You two are funny. You should take your act on the road … permanently," she said dryly.
Katelynn headed for the bedroom she was sharing with her mother. She paused for just a moment to contemplate what she was about to do. She reached into her mother's purse and pulled out her cell phone. She searched through the copious numbers that were listed. It was there plain as day. "Sonny." This was too easy. She took a deep breath and hit send.
When the read out flashed Reese, he did a double take. There was no way it was she who was calling. It had been almost eight years since she had dialed the number that only a few others had in their possession. His heartbeat rapidly, "Hello?" No response. "Reese?"
"Um no sir. You don't know me. My name is Katelynn Marshall. Reese is my mother."
"If you're playing on the phone katelynn I need you to hang up right now ok."
"I'm not playing. I just wanted to call and wish you a Merry Christmas … Dad," she said slowly.
"Look if this is some kind of a joke it's not funny." He heard Reese call out to her that it was time for dinner. Sonny hadn't heard her voice in such a long time. He closed his eyes at the flood of memories the mere sound of her voice conjured up.
"I have to go now! She's coming. Bye Daddy!" she said quickly as she hung up. Katelynn turned off the phone and put it back where she had found it.
"Daddy?" Sonny held the phone in his hand not believing that the call that had only lasted twenty seconds had just turned his world upside-down. He needed answers and an explanation.Reese had no choice but to give them to him.
~~~~~~~
"You're awful quiet. Anything wrong?" Reese asked as the drove back into the city.
"I'd rather not."
"Alright well if you want to talk you know where to find me."
"Thanks Mom."
Dante the building's doorman loaded their numerous bags of presents, and luggage onto a cart and promised to bring it up post haste. It felt so good to be home. The ride up the elevator was quiet, and after a week with the Jacks' some peace and quiet was more than welcome.
"Are you sure you're ok?" she asked Katelynn again.
"I'm fine. I promise," Katelynn said as she reached out and took Reese'hand.
"Ok."
Reese would let it rest for now. Something was definitely weighing on her Little One's mind, and she intended to find out what that was.
<Ding>
"Here we are home sweet ho..Sonny!" Reese squeaked.
"Reese. Katelynn."
"Is this what you didn't want to talk about?" she asked looking down at Katelynn
"Yes ma'am."
"I just want to talk Reese. I'm not here to cause trouble for you or your daughter."
"Come in," Reese fidgeted with the key in the lock. He'd been in her presence thirty seconds and already her nerves were shot.
"Need some help?" he asked.
"I can get it!" she said turning around to glare at him.
Katelynn tugged on the sleeve of his coat, and extended her hand to him. He took hold of it feeling a rush of love for the little girl, as she smiled and looked at him expectantly. Sonny now had no doubt she was his.

Part 2....
Let me know what yalls think..be honest
Reese walked briskly into her apartment. Katelynn closed the door softly behind them.
"You're mad now aren't you?" Katelynn stated more than questioned as her mother stood with her back to them trying to regain some composure.
"Please go upstairs. I need to talk to your fa...Sonny alone."
"Tell me you're not mad!"
"I can't tell you that, and don't raise your voice to me young lady. Now go to your room," Reese told her trying to keep it together.Katelynn took off in tears as fast as her legs would carry her. She flung herself on the bed, and cried into her pillow.
"Reese,"Sonny said softly.
"What did she tell you?" she asked.
"Nothing much. I thought it was you calling. She used your cell phone."
"Clever girl."
"She wished me a Merry Christmas, and called me Daddy when she quickly said goodbye. You were calling her to come eat dinner."
"The day after Christmas."
"Yes."
Reese shook her head in earnest. She should have known Katelynn wouldn't just let it be. Maybe in the back of her mind she wanted her to spill the beans, and get it out in the open because she didn't believe she'd ever have the courage to tell him herself.
"So go ahead scream and yell at me. Tell me how I betrayed you yet again."
"I think you did Katelynn the disservice Reese. She is the one you betrayed."
"I did what was best for her at the time. I won't regret keeping her safe from the life you lead."
"Led. Past tense. I've been legit for years, but I'm sure you know that. Why didn't you come to me. We could have handled this together."
"You can't be serious Sonny. You hated me; you were still married to Carly and had a family of your own. You didn't need me or Katelynn complicating things," Reese told him.
"Was that not my choice to make?" he asked.
"Your right to anything regarding my baby died the day the one person I trusted most with my life and my heart threatened to break me."
"I regret saying those things, but you gotta admit you could have prevented all of the ugliness that went on between us."
"How so?" she asked her voice rising an octave higher. "You washed your hands of me the moment your precious Carly staged her own death. I was just convenient that night we were together. Can you honestly tell me you saw anything happening with us beyond that!"
"Yes!"
"Liar," Reese scoffed. Though there was a spark of hope in her heart that he meant that.
"Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to."
"Well then I thank you for fighting for me. You did an excellent job."
"Yea I fought for us about as hard as you did I'll give you that, but you ran too Reese. As far and as fast as you could. You can't blame me for everything."
"Oh I don't. I blame myself for thinking you ever gave a damn about me. My friend," she said her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Don't you dare de-value our friendship. It was real and it was true, and you know it!"
"What are you here for? What do you want?"
"I want my daughter!"
"She's my daughter Sonny! You only made the deposit that allowed her to be brought into this world."
"And whose fault is it that I don't know my own child!"
"Yours!"
"Like hell it is!"
"STOP IT! STOP IT! PLEASE I'M SORRY I LIED MOMMY I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHO HE WAS. YOU TOLD ME HE WOULD LOVE ME. THAT'S ALL I WANTED WAS FOR HIM TO LOVE ME! PLEASE STOP FIGHTING. I'LL BE GOOD I PROMISE!" Katelynn yelled with tears streaming down her face at the top of the stairs before turning and fleeing to the safety of her bedroom. She turned on the radio to drowned out the loud voices below.
"Oh god what have I've done?" Reese cried as she hurriedly went upstairs to get to her little girl. Sonny followed on her heels. "katelynn please let me in," she said as she found the door locked. Katelynn didn't answer her. "Please sweetheart," she said starting to cry harder.
"Give her some time Reese," Sonny whispered as he eased her white knuckled grip off the doorknob.
"She needs me."
"We're fifteen stories up and she's locked herself in her room. She's not going anywhere." reese turned around and slid down the door. She brought her knees into her chest and rested her head on them. She couldn't leave her baby.
Sonny joined her on the floor and leaned his head against the door next to hers. "She's beautiful."
Reese nodded in agreement. "Inside and out."
"You've done a great job. I can see how much she loves you."
"She's my life Sonny."
"All I want is for her to be a part of mine."
"If Katelynn agrees we'll go to the courts and work out some sort of custody arrangement."
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me."
"So tell me about our daughter," he said.
"Where should I start?"
"Wherever. I don't know anything about her."
Reese took a deep calming breath and began. "Well she's smart; brilliant actually. She's sweet, sensitive but not overly so. Compassionate, loving, articulate, and graceful. Katelynn is a bon-a-fide tomboy. She has plenty of girlfriends, and likes most girly things, but prefers to hang with the boys playing sports, and just running wild in general. Loves clothes and shopping, absolutely hates dresses. Adores a good pedicure, loves Italian food. It's always spaghetti or lasagna around here; catered of course. She likes all vegetables except cauliflower and brussell sprouts. Her favorite TV shows are re-runs of Brady Bunch and I love Lucy. She has the cutest laugh Sonny. It's more like a cross between a giggle and a snort than a laugh, but...well you'll just have to hear it for yourself some time. She's so fun, and...
"Breathe Reese," Sonny chuckled. "Katelynn sounds wonderful."
"She is. She's my best friend."
"I was easy to replace then?"
"Don't. It's different and you know it."
"I do. I've missed you."
"It's been eight years. Nothing is the same. We're not the same."
"Yes we are. At the heart of it all we're still the same old Sonny and Reese. Maybe a little older and hopefully a lot wiser, but still the same."
"I'm definitely older. Wiser is debatable."
"You look great. Not that you never did look great."
"Thank you. Katelynn keeps me young," she said nervously.
"She'll be in no danger around me Reese."
"She'd better not be."
"I'm clean and legit one hundred percent. I've severed my mob ties. You can count on it."
"Swear on your stupid code, that I can believe what you're saying."
"I swear on my stupid code that you can trust me."
"I didn't say anything about trusting you." Reese looked over and tried to wipe the smirk off her face as he flashed a familiar dimpled grin her way. "You're impossible."
She turned away from him, and closed her eyes. A yawn escaped and she apologized, but didn't open her eyes. "Reese?" She had fallen asleep propped up against the door. Her head tilted to the side, and rolled his way. He gently eased it onto his shoulder, and rested his against it. If Katelynn was as stubborn as her mother they could be waiting her out until the end of time. Taking advantage of the situation he too relaxed into sleep.
Katelynnn turned down the radio. She no longer heard shouting voices from downstairs. She crept to her door and unlocked it. She quietly turned the knob and pulled it open. Her mother and father were laid out at her feet in a daze.
"Hi sweetheart."
"Hey."
"What are you two doing down there?"
"We we're waiting for you,"Reese told her as Sonny helped her up off the floor.
"Did you two work anything out?"
"Yes we did. If you'd like to get to know your father it would be ok with me. I'd actually encourage it."
"Thank you!" she squealed flinging herself into her mother's arms.
"Don't thank me. You put all this in motion Little One."
"Please tell me you're not mad."
"I'm not mad." Reese said softly. "Now let me introduce you to your father. Sonny Corinthos. Katelynn Marie Marshall. Your daughter."
Her radiant dimpled smile slammed into his chest and actually made him ache. She was perfection. Something he had longed to achieve, and he had achieved it with Reese. Katelynn held her arms up to him. "Pick me up Daddy."
"You'd better do it. Soon she'll be to grown up for you to."
Sonny lifted her into his arms. Her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms twined tightly around his neck. She brushed a kiss across his cheek and hugged the life out of him. Reese let her tears flow freely. It was a beautiful picture she had waited so long to see. Sonny returned her hug as silent tears slipped down his cheeks. This feeling was unlike anything he'd ever known. Holding his other children had not evoked this feeling of joy, happiness, and all consuming love. There was something about Katelynn that touched him to the depths of his soul. It was the same something that her mother possessed, and still did to this day.
"I love you Daddy."
"I love you too," he choked out.
Alexis backed quietly from the room leaving father and daughter alone to get acquainted.

on request here is part 3.Please let me know what you think
They sat on her bed with her nestled into the crook of his arm, her little body snuggled up against him.
"Do you always take this well to strangers?" Sonny asked.
"You're not a stranger. You're my Dad silly."
"But you don't really know me Katelynn."
"Well isn't that what you're here for?" she asked.
"Yea," he said incredulously.
"That's what I thought. Now where were we?"
"Getting to know each other."
"Right. I'll ask the first question."
"Shoot."
"What is your job?"
"Coffee importing."
"Are there bad men in coffee importing? Mom said you are a good man, but other men at your job were bad, and would try to hurt me."
"Umm I quit that job. No one's going to hurt you I promise."
"You might want to tell Mom that," Katelynn said.
"I will."
"Now you ask me a question."
"What's your favorite subject in school?"
"Gym."
"Gym's a subject now?"
"Not really I just like it a lot. History is my favorite to learn."
"What's your least favorite?"
"Math. It's too easy. It bores me."
"I can understand that. Maybe when you grow up you can be my accountant," Sonny told her.
"Could we see each other everyday, and go out to lunch like Mommy does with her clients!"
"Sure we could," he smiled at her youthful exuberance.
"Mommy has an accountant. His name is Nigel. He always has lolipops when we go there. Cherry is my favorite." She rambled on bringing a dimpled grin to his face.
"Your turn."
"Do you love mommy?"
"Sure I do."
"I really, really think you need to tell her that."
"It's not that simple, and don't run and tell your mom what I just told you."
"I can keep a secret Daddy."
"Good, but no secrets. You're just not going to say anything."
"My lips are sealed. Will you be here when I wake up in the morning?" she asked.
"No. I'll go get a hotel room, and come back in the morning. How would you like it if I made you the best breakfast ever?"
"You can cook?"
"Of course."
"Mom can't. She burns things."
"I know. How do French Toast, bacon, and fresh squeezed orange juice sound?"
"With syrup and powdered sugar?"
"Whatever you want."
"Sounds yummy. Can Mommy eat with us too?"
"Of course. I'll go downstairs and invite her. You need to get some sleep. It's late."
"OK you go ask mom and I'll get ready for bed."
Sonny headed downstairs.Reese sat at her desk going over some legal documents. She rubbed at her neck trying to ease some of the tension that had her tied up in knots.
"Is she alright?" Reese asked as he walked up behind her.
"Yea she's fine," he said as his hands touched down on her shoulders. She stiffened immediately. "Relax," Sonny whispered as he tried to knead the tension from her muscles. She wasn't cooperating.
"Please stop," she felt herself succumbing to the firm pressure of his hands and fingers. It felt good, but she couldn't allow him to continue.
"I'm just trying to help."
"Thanks, but I don't need it," Reese quickly rose from her chair and put some distance between them.
"I'm sorry."
"MOMMY! DADDY! I'M READY TO BE TUCKED IN!" Katelynn hollered.
"We'll be right there sweetie," Reese returned.
"Every other weekend won't be enough for me," Sonny told her softly.
"We're not discussing this right now. We are going to put our daughter to bed, and then you're leaving."
"I told her I'd be back in the morning to make her breakfast."
"That's fine," she snapped as they made their way upstairs.
"That's fine," he mimicked. Reese rolled her eyes and held her tongue.
They each gave Katelynn a goodnight kiss and hug, making sure she was all snuggled in for the night.
"See you in the morning Daddy," she said giving him her sweetest smile.
"You will. Goodnight Katelynn."
"Mommy I need to talk to you for a second."
"Sure what is it?"
"I just wanted to tell that I'm glad I have a daddy now, but I'm always going to want my mommy too."
"I love you so much baby," Reese said pulling Katelynn into her arms, and trying to not weep openly.
"I love you too."
Sonny watched their exchange through the crack in the door and smiled. He knew Reese' fears, and would do his best to keep them at bay. He had no intention of stealing his daughter away. It was clear Reese needed Katelynn, as much as Katelynn did her. They were a package deal. A package he hoped to take delivery of very soon. He'd been waiting for eight years, and that was to damn long.
~~~~~~~~~~
Katelynn opened the door to him early that morning with strict orders for him to be quiet and not wake Reese.
"You wanna help me make breakfast?" he asked.
"Sure, but no loud noises. Mom was up most of the night crying."
"What?"
"I shouldn't have told you," she said.
"I won't mention it to her. Why was she crying?"
"I don't know? She doesn't do it every night, but she's done it since I was little. When I hear her I crawl into bed and cuddle with her. She always tells me how beautiful I am, and then goes to sleep."
Katelynn's admission was a double-edged sword. Sonny hoped it was he who she was crying over. It meant she still cared, but it pained him to think he had hurt her so badly that she'd lost sleep over him.
"Well we'll be extra quiet then so mommy can get her beauty sleep."
"Mommy doesn't need it. She's always pretty," Katelynn said with a smile.
"That she is. Ok lets get started shall we?"
"We shall sir," she said in her best French accent. Over the past eight years,Reese had taught her daughter little French which Reese remembered from High school.
Reese stretched and yawned as the heady scent of coffee and bacon assailed her senses, then she remembered … Sonny's here. She rolled out of bed, completed her morning beauty routine and padded to the kitchen. She entered undetected and watched from the doorway. Katelynn stood on a chair next to Sonny as he concocted some sort of mixture for the French toast.
"Ok Katelynn its two eggs, a dash of milk, and one-half teaspoon of vanilla extract. Are you writing this down?" he asked.
"I've got it all right here," she said, tapping at her temple.
"You are your mother's daughter."
"Well who else's would I be?"
"Nobody's, and I wouldn't want it any other way." Sonny tweaked the end of her nose making Katelynn laugh. Reese backed up a few steps and entered the kitchen fully.
"Good morning," she said cheerfully as she put her arms around Katelynn from behind and smothered the side of her face with playful kisses.
"Mommy I'm helping Daddy make breakfast!"
"I see that. You're such a good helper."
"I can make you an omelet if you don't want French toast," Sonny offered as he thought of how adorable she looked wearing a baby tee, flannel sleep pants, and her trademark wool socks. Her hair was pulled back in a thick ponytail, and her face was freshly scrubbed. "French toast will be fine. Thank you."
"No problem. We have things under control here. Why don't you go in the living room, and we'll come get you when it's ready."
"Any reason in particular I'm being excluded?"
"We're bonding mom, and you can't cook anyway."
"Well when you're right, you're right," Reese said with a resigned sigh and turned to leave. "Are you sure you don't need my help?"
"Yep."
"Positive," Sonny chimed in.
"Humph." She went to the living room and plopped down on the couch. She flipped threw a magazine. Their laughter bounced off the walls and reached her ears. Reese was feeling left out and more than a little sad. She was in danger of losing her daughter to the charms of Sonny Corinthos. She couldn't blame Katelynn though; she hadn't been able to resist them either.
"Come on Mommy breakfast is ready!" Katelynn said happily as she dragged Reeseoff the couch and into the dining room.
"It smells heavenly. I bet I can guess which pieces of toast are yours," Reese said.
"Aren't they neat! Daddy cooked them in that shape. He said I already had his, but that if you wanted you could have it too!" she exclaimed.
"Have what?" Reese asked.
"His heart," Katelynn said none the wiser to the implications that went along with the possession of such a thing.
"He said that did he?"
"It's the truth," Sonny said as his eyes stared hard into hers.
"The truth hurts. Let's eat shall we?" She said nonchalantly as she took a seat. They ate in relative harmony. Katelynn helped pass the time as she recounted every event of her life she could remember since the age of two. By the time they had finished breakfast she had only covered up to age four. Hearing her tell of each adventure as she saw it delighted both mother and father a lot.. Sonny wished so badly that he had been allowed to share in them with her. After they had cleaned the kitchen Katelynn went upstairs to shower and change. Reese tried to do the same, but as her daughter reached the top of the stairs and disappeared down the hall Sonny stopped her.
"What was all that about earlier? The truth hurts?"
"I could have your heart if I wanted it!" she hissed. "My god Sonny eight years have gone by! Do you think I'm so desperate that you can just waltz back in here, make my daughter fall in love you, and expect me to follow suit?"
"Stranger things have happened."
"Such as?" she questioned.
"We had a baby together. I never expected that. I bet you didn't either."
"The concept of you and I was strange. Procreation is the natural thing that happens when two people have sex," she said.
"I've had sex Reese. We didn't have sex that night."
"Don't you dare bring love into it."
"Why not. You were in love me. Weren't you?" Sonny asked as he slowly walked toward her.
"What ever gave you that idea?" Her breathing quickened as he stopped within inches of her.
"Not what ever; whom ever. Ric, Sam, Jax, and my ex-wife; they all knew how you felt about me. Why didn't I?"
"You knew! Don't try and pretend that just because I never came right out and said it that you didn't."
"You should have told me."
"When, that night? If you would have stopped shoving your tongue down my throat long enough for me to say a few words I might have!" Reese yelled,trying not to be too loud knowing her daughter was in the other room. Probably listening.
"I didn't hear you complaining."
"How could you? I was practically gagged."
Sonny laughed and it irked her to no end. "What's so damned funny."
"You. You can't even say you enjoyed making love with me, all admissions of love aside. Can you?"
"Your ego knows no bounds," she said taking a step back
"Has it ever?" he asked taking a step closer.
"No." Her back hit a wall.
"I can tell you one thing for sure Reese. I more than enjoyed myself that night, and was hoping for a repeat performance after breakfast, but you went and got dressed. When you asked me if I had any idea what would happen next, do you know what my answer was going to be?" Sonny purred.
"No, and I don't want to know."
"Sure ya do." He leaned in pressing his body gently against hers. His voice was low and seductive against her ear. Reese' face flushed scarlet at his suggestion as to what he would have and still longed to do with her. "Whaddya say Reese? We're both consenting adults."
"I'm not consenting to anything with you again, ever." She was dying a slow and painful death. With each breath her chest grazed his, the thin tee shirt doing nothing to conceal her awareness of him.
"Never say never Reese. I've waited eight years for you." Sonny's teeth nipped her earlobe, and his lips brushed light kisses over the sensitive skin of her neck. He heard the faintest of moans escape her lips, and felt her eyelash brush against his cheek as her eyes drifted shut.
"MOMMY I'M ALL CLEAN!" Her entire body jerked against him as her daughter's voice brought her back to reality. Reese silently cursed herself for letting him get to her. She ducked under his arm and ran upstairs. Sonny groaned in frustrated agony.
"So close, but yet so far," he thought. Sonny sat on Katelynn's very girly bed amongst the pile of pillows and stuffed animals and watched as Reese gently worked her way through the thick dark mass of waves and curls of his daughter's hair with extreme care.
"Ok what will it be today madam?"Reese asked as she finished untangling her hair.
"French braids Mommy."
"You got it kiddo."
"How'd you learn to do that Reese?" he asked. She'd fixed Katelynn up in no time flat.
"Years of practice."
"How do I look Daddy?" she asked.
"Beautiful absolutely beautiful," he said, beaming with pride. "How about I take you out for the day, and then ice skating at Rockefeller Center tonight."
"I would love that!"
"I'm sorry she can't go. I have plans tonight, and can't go with you. Besides Ms. Stanphill already agreed to baby-sit."
"What? You don't trust me with my own kid Reese?"
"I trust you Daddy," Katelynn chirped.
"Thank you baby."
"You hardly know him," Reese said as she looked down at her.
"I know him enough."
"Yea she knows me enough," Sonny declared.
"Can I trust you?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"A valid one. You have her back home by ten o' clock, not a second later or I call out the national guard."
"I promise. We'll be home by ten and not a second later…Reese..He said as he rolled his eyes
"We're going to have so much fun Daddy," she said taking his hand.
"Yea. It's to bad Mommy can't come have fun with us because she has plaaannnsss."
"Bite me," Reese mouthed as she glared at him.
"I'd love too," he said aloud as he led Katelynn out her room and down the stairs to begin their day of fun.
"You'd love to what Daddy?"
"Nothing baby," Sonny chuckled, as he looked up at Reese whose mouth was hanging open as she leaned over the railing and watched them walk out the door.
Here is part 4 for anyone who wants to read it Note: Katey is short for Katelynn
"Daddy look! Mommy would look so pretty in that," she said running over to look more closely at the blouse. "I think I'm going to buy it for her."
"I'll get it Katey."
"No that's ok Daddy I have a credit card."
"You're eight years old. What are you doing with a credit card?"
"It's called an authorized user Dad. If mom were with us she'd buy it herself, so what's the difference?"
"Nothing I guess." She picked out Reeses' size and proceeded to the cashier.
"Can I see some I.D?"
"Yes ma'am." She pulled out an I.D card and showed it to the lady and smiled. Thirty seconds later Katey had signed the charge slip and they left.
They hadn't gone too overboard. Katey didn't want for much. His daughter was spoiled in a sense, but she never asked for anything, and was grateful for all she had. It was foreign to him that a kid could be so grounded and mature at the age of eight, yet still be so carefree and young. She was definitely one of a kind, and that could only be attributed to Reese's skills as a parent. He was very impressed with her, and their daughter. But they'd definitely have to have a chat about Katey being able to freely use her charge card.
"So Katey tell me about these plans your mom has tonight?"
"I don't know what she's doing. She never tells me."
"How often does she make these plans?"
"A couple of times a month I guess. I usually end up staying the night with Ms. Stanphill and mom picks me up in the morning."
"What would you like to do next?" Sonny asked trying to take his mind off of what or better yet whom Reese was doing while she was out all night.
"Can we go to the zoo?"
"Sure, but I'm not buying you a monkey."
"Well you're no fun," Katey exaggerated. "How about the museums then?"
"You got it."
~~~~~~
Reese had wanted to use and abuse Durrant that evening. Sonny had got under her skin, and was driving her crazy. She had been more than ready to take her sexual frustrations out on Durrant, but hadn't been able to follow through. She had apologized profusely for his wasted trip into the city giving him the excuse that Katey hadn't been feeling well, and she felt guilty leaving her with only Ms. Stanphill to take care of her. Being the good man that he was he kissed her soundly and left without protest.
Reese stood just beyond their line of vision at the ice rink. She couldn't believe Katey had got him out onto the ice. The big bad mobster wobbled like a newborn foal as he clung to edge, trying to shuffle one foot in front of the other. Her daughter's fits of laughter between the words of encouragement as she tried to help her father skate brought a happy smile to her face. Reese couldn't contain her own laughter when he fell to his butt on the ice pulling Katey down with him. She leaned over the railing and looked down at them. "Smooth move Corinthos."
"Mommy!"
"I thought you had plans," he said still flat on his back as he grinned up at her.
"Plans change," she said offering him her hands to help him up.
With the girls' help he managed to quickly pull himself up and get off the ice. "I don't know about you Katey, but my bottom hurts."
"Well that what happens you fall on it, again and again and again."
"Thanks for the support."
"You're welcome," she said as they went to remove their skates and put on their shoes.
~~~~~~~
Sonny and Reese sat beside each other in the limousine. Katey sat across them with an amused grin as they headed for her apartment.
"What are you smiling about?" Sonny asked.
"I had a good day today," she said crawling across the seat to sit between them. She took the gloved hand of each and held it in her lap.
"I'm glad sweetheart. Are you sleepy?"
"A little bit."
By the time they arrived at home Katey was out like a light. Sonny carried into the building and then up to her room once they were inside.
"I'll take it from here," Reese whispered as she roused Katey enough to help her get out of her clothes and into bed. She tucked Katey in and switched off the light.
~~~~~~
"You wore her out," Reese told him as she came down the stairs.
"I'd rather wear you out."
"Sonny!"
"I was just kidding. Come here."
"I don't think you were," she said
"Where's your sense of humor?"
"Silly me I must have left it upstairs. I'll go get it."
"Please sit Reese. I'm harmless," he said innocently.
She laughed out loud at his statement. "You harmless? I beg to differ." She sat down on the opposite end of the couch as far away as she could get. Reese crossed her legs, and folded her arms over her chest.
"You don't have to beg Reese. I'm more than willing."
"You've lost your mind."
"Why do you deny yourself?" Sonny asked.
"Why do you indulge yourself?"
"I asked you first, and I haven't in a very long time. If I recall the last time I indulged myself, it was my birthday and there was a long-legged beautiful attorney in my arms."
"Flattery will get you nowhere."
"You're being difficult."
"What? You don't like a challenge?" Reese teased.
"I didn't say that, but I guess that you falling willingly into my arms is out huh?"
"Something like that," she said trying to suppress the grin tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Come on Reese. I promise you won't regret it," Sonny said with silky smoothness.
"I never said I would."
He shifted on the couch trying to get a little more comfortable, and moved a few inches closer. She was so close, but yet so far away. "Ah, ah, ah stay right where you are." Reese could have sworn he had just growled at her.
"Why did your plans change tonight?" he asked.
"I was too worried about Katey being out with you to worry about the task at hand."
"So you left him high and dry huh?"
"HE was very understanding."
"And in a lot of pain I'll bet," Sonny chuckled.
"Must you be so crude?"
"I just know how he's feeling is all," he said as he stretched his legs out on the sofa.
"Knock it off Sonny I mean it."
"Have you been working out Reese?"
"What? Why? I um…I've taken up jogging."
"You look fantastic. Does running help with the frustration from having "plans" only a few times a month?"
She didn't have much of a response for him. Nothing she did helped ease her want of him. Durrant couldn't snuff out the flame she held for Sonny, no matter how hard he had tried in the last eight years. She could never get that night out of her mind, and his suggestion of what would have happened after breakfast made her whole body tingle. "Are you offering your services?"
"That's only one small part of what I want to offer you."
"It's small now? That's unfortunate."
"Reese," Sonny said seriously.
"I'm sorry. Please continue."
"Who is he is Reese?"
"That's private and absolutely none of your business."
"I just want to know who my competition is."
"Why so you can eliminate him?" she asked flippantly.
"That was low."
"Sorry. Old habits die hard."
"So?"
"So what?"
"My competition," he said, becoming frustrated in more ways than one, but still loving the game.
"He's not."
"How come?"
There was a long pause that seemed to stretch into eternity. She let go of a deep breath and trained her shimmering brown eyes upon him.
"Because he's not you."
"Pardon me?" He couldn't have possibly have heard her right.
"It's always been you Sonny, even when I didn't want it to be. You're it for me," Reese said. She no longer had the energy or desire to deny her feelings for him. She loved him. She had always loved him.
"You're it for me too," he whispered. Sonny reached for her hand and pulled her across the couch and into his lap. Eight years of pent up lust and emotion flared white-hot between them. Reese moaned as his mouth pressed hard across hers and his tongue invaded her mouth. She'd missed the taste of him. Their kisses slowed to a leisurely pace as they stretched out on the couch the full length of his body covering hers, and enjoyed being able to touch each other again.
Katey smiled down from the top the stairs and watched her mother and father kiss and make up. It was icky, but okay as she crept quietly back to her room.
"Sonny we can't do this here. Katey could see us."
"She's sleeping," he said raggedly as he kissed the satiny flesh across the tops of her breasts where her blouse hung open.Reese's head was spinning as the moist warmth of his lips blazed a trail across her chest, and up over the ultra-sensitive spots of her neck. She was so glad he still remembered her pleasure points.
"My room," she whispered as she continued to tear at his clothes to get to his skin. Sonny held her body tightly against his as they managed to stumble to her bedroom their lips still locked in passionate combat.
They fell back together on her bed a tangle of limbs wrapping around the other. He felt like his head was going to explode; he just didn't know which one. He'd waited eight years for her. No one else could ever satisfy him emotionally and physically like she did. "Hurry." Reese encouraged him as she fumbled with the button and zipper of his pants. Her skirt rode high on her thighs, as he ripped at the undergarments that were keeping his flesh from being one with hers. "Finally!" They both thought as they helped each other remove the last few barriers between them. He had to swallow her cries and loud moans over and over as they made love. She had to do the same. It was too much, the euphoria of being loved so thoroughly by this man. She could only hear the blood pounding in her ears as she let go, and rode out the intense tremors he had coaxed from deep within her. He was in heaven and never wanted to leave. His entire body thrummed with total satisfaction, as he breathed in the sweet scent of her hair. They stroked and petted each other lovingly as their bodies and brains returned to some sense of normalcy.
"God I missed you," Reese whispered softly in his ear. "I still can't believe you're here."
"I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?"
"Promise," he said as he covered their cooling bodies with the sheet and wrapped his arms around her in the process. "I love you." Her sleepy eyes drifted open as the words echoed in her head. She turned to meet his eyes in the dim moonlit room. Reese's palm curved to cup the familiar contour of his face. "I love you too." Truer words had never been spoken.
~~~~~~~
Katelynn walked into her mother's room the next morning without a second thought. Her mother had always told her she was welcome in there anytime. She hadn't expected to see some one else sharing her bed though.
"Mommy?"
"Hmmm," Reese sighed contentedly as snuggled back into the warmth of the arms that embraced her. It took her a moment to form a cognizant thought to where she was, who she was in bed with, and who was calling her name. "Katelynn!" she shrieked as she quickly sat up clutching the sheet to her chest.
"Good morning Mommy."
"Um good morning," Reese said as she used one hand to shake Sonny awake.
"Ready to go again Baby?"
"Sonny!" She hissed in annoyance. "Katelynn is here. Wake up!"
"Huh? Katelynn?" He opened his eyes and dragged his hand across his face as his eyes focused on her. "Hey Peanut."
"Hey Daddy. I'm sorry for interrupting."
"It's ok baby," Sonny told her as she gave her a sleepy smile.
"It's not ok," Reese said giving him a dirty look.
"I'm sorry Mommy."
"Oh no Katelynn. It's ok you're in my room. I just didn't want you to see us together like this?"
"Together like what?"
"In….well bed," she said.
"Mommies and daddies are supposed to share beds aren't they?" Katelynn asked in confusion as to what the problem was.
"Yes, but…Sonny could you help me out on this one?"Reese was mortified down to the tips of her pretty pink toenails.
"You're doing an excellent job Reese, but I'd love to help you out. Thank you for asking," he said as his hand settled possessively on her left cheek beneath the sheet. She was shocked, but there was nothing she could do to stop it that wouldn't draw Katelynns's attention.
"You know Mommy and Daddy have been apart for a very long time right."
"Yes, since before I was born."
"Right. We love each other very much, and wanted to show that to each other."
"Does this have anything to do with where babies come from because I know all about that," she said.
"Kind of, but not really."
"Were you making babies? I'd really like a little sister since I already have two brothers even though I haven't met them yet."
"Hold on a second," he said unable to keep from laughing.
"This is so not funny Corinthos," Reese told him
"It's your fault. You raised her to be this way." He gave her rear an affectionate squeeze and she shot him a look of pure hatred.
"What way?"
"Too dang smart for her own good."
"Katelynn sweetheart would you please wait outside for us, and we'll be out in a minute."
"Ok. Daddy will you make breakfast again?"
"Sure thing Peanut," he said with a smile as Katelynn left the room shutting the door behind her.
"You're unbelievable!" Reese railed as she threw off the sheet.
"Whoa where are you going?" Sonny asked grabbing her hips and pulling her back down.
"Let go of me Sonny."
"Not until you say good morning properly."
"Good Morn…." Her words were muffled by the quick surge of his tongue between her lips. She resisted for a fraction of a second before melting beneath him and returning his kiss with equal enthusiasm.
Katelynn sat on the couch tapping the foot of her inherited long legs on the hardwood floor as she waited, and waited, and waited for her parents.
"OK!" Sonny said cheerily with a spring in his step as he emerged from the bedroom, "What can I make you for breakfast."
"Dad I thought a minute lasted sixty seconds, not oh let's see…fifteen hundred seconds?" she said quickly doing the math in her head.
"Boy you really are good at math."
"Yep she's whiz," Reese chimed in.
"You think that was good just wait until I start counting the weeks, days and months until my baby sister's born," Katelynn told them as she headed for the kitchen.
"Stop looking at me like that!"
"Like what?" Sonny asked innocently.
"Like I'm the Nile Valley and you've got your trusty water hose ready to irrigate," she snapped.
"Come on I'm starving!" Katelynn called out from the kitchen.
"Me too baby. Me too," he said as he watched the inviting sway of Reeses' hips as she walked briskly into the kitchen.
She walked into the kitchen to see that breakfast was ready. She had to get Katelynn off to to school, which meant Sonny would probably stick around. She fed Katelynn, making sure she had her homework.
"Now you have a good day sweetheart." Said Reese, kissing her daughters forhead.
"I will mom." Katelynn said, hugging Reese
"What about a hug for you dad.' Said Sonny, smiling. giving reese a glance remembering their very passionate night.
Katelynn hugged them both and left.
"Now, Sonny. I have work to do so dont get in my face." Said Reese
"You mean, how I was in your face last night." He said,smiling
"Oh Shut it" She said, playfully.
She did paperwork with Sonny over her shoulder.
Her phone rang and it was Katelynn School saying their had been guns fired.
Reese grabbed her coat and purse and yelled "You Bastard" At sonny
She slammed the apartment door. She saw children running to their parents, and Reese's mind was going crazy thinking "Where is my baby girl"
The school principal walked over to Reese. "Ms.Marshall?"
"Yes, I am here. Where is my baby." She knew what was about to come but she couldnt handle it.She grabbed a tissue,crying.
"Katelynn was shot, in the side. The parametics didnt think it was life threatening but she will have to have sergury."
Reese went to the hospital, sitting in the waiting room. pacing from the window, to the waterfountain. She ahd called Jax. She needed him. He came and Reese hugged him. "Ohhh jax.. My Baby Girl."
"Shhh, Reese. I am here. No one is hurting her or you ever again." He sat with her. She rested her head on his shoulder.
Everything was silenced.Sonny walked right through the front door."This is all your fault. You Bastard." She took a swing at him, and missed.Reese had also found out from Sam, that Emily and Sonny were together.
She punched Sonny right in the mouth. "That was for sleeping with Emily and this is for having my baby shot at."
Jax grabbed Reese's arm and they walked. Kristina had gotten out of surgery. Reese rushed in and held her daughter in her arms. Reese was crying, she was so thankful that her daughter was safe.
"Wheres Sonny" Asked Katelynn
Reese stared at Jax, then Jax looked at Reese. And Reese looked at her daughter and sighed
Reese;Just give me a minute with my daughter.
Reese sat on katelynn bed.
Reese:Sweetheart, You are alright. You are going to be strong. Your momma needs you.. I love you.. She leaned down and kissed her daughters forhead.
Jax went to go get Reese some coffee, Reese hadnt slept at the hospital and she wouldnt go home.
Sonny put his hand on Reese's shoulder.
Sonny: Reese
Reese: Sonny, get away
Sonny: She's my daughter
Reese: When did a bond with anyone matter to you
Sonny: What on earth is that suppose to mean
Reese; We were happy, we concieved a baby and at the same time you were cheating on me with Emily
Sonny: No I was not
Reese:Dont Lie to me.Sam told me, Sam doesnt lie to me
Sonny: We made love last night, dont tell me you dont love me
Reese: I dont love you, I hate you. I love Jax.
Reese was lying, she wanted to make Sonny mad,knowing Jax and Sonny were enimies
jax: Excuse me
Reese gave Jax that look of "you better follow along with this"
Jax: yeah, I love Reese.
he leaned in kissing her right in front of Sonny
Both Reese and Jax, just planned for it to be a small kiss on the lips to make Sonny jelous. But for some reason, their kiss got passionate. And neither of them wanted to pull away.
Sonny: Reese, you dont deserve him
Reese:I certainly dont deserve someone like you, I deserve someone better.
She looked at Jax, Reese was blushing.
When Sonny looked away, Reese mouthed to Jax:Sorry
and he mouthed back;Dont Be
Reese stepped over to where Jax was.
Reese: Can I just have a minute with my daughter.
Jax touched her face.
Jax: Take all the time you need.
Reese:Kateylnn, you're fine, sweetheart.
Katelynn: Who is that blonde haired guy.
Reese: That is a friend of mine from Port Charles, his name is Jasper Jax but you can call him Jax.
Katelynn: He has a weird accent.
Reese: Now that isnt polite, young lady
Jax was standing behind Reese.
Jax: It's ok. I am from Australia you know.
Katelynn: Where's Sonny. Why isnt he here.
Reese: he had to go back to Port Charles and do some buisness
Reese: Now you need to get some rest so we you can go home. Reese kissed her daughters forehead.
Reese sat outside her room watching her daughter sleep
Jax: She's gonna be alright, Reese.
Reese: I know, I was so scared for her life.
Jax looked at her.
Jax:Any mother would be.
Reese: I am sorry about earlier, kissing you and all.
Jax: Dont be. He touched her face.
Jax whispered to her: I enjoyed it.
Sonny walked to where Reese and Jax were.
Reese didnt want Sonny anywhere near her daughter.
Jax knew how much Reese wanted to make Sonny jelous.
Jax gently put Reese against the wall, and kissed her passionatly, she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Reese knew it was something real, and it wasnt just about making Sonny jelous. As weird as it was, she thought she was falling for Jax.
A couple days later, Katelynn was being discharged from the hospital in NY.
Reese didnt know what to do. She hoped jax had already went back to Port Charles but he hadnt.
Reese: Jax, why arent you in Port Charles
Jax: Im waiting for someone
Reese: Who
Jax: You
Reese: Me? What are you talking about
Jax: I want you and Katelynn to come live with me in Port Charles just for a couple days, and longer if you want.
Reese:I dont want you taking pity on me
Jax: I'm not
Reese: Then what is this
Jax: I care about you and your daughter, Reese.
Reese:Jax, for the past couple of months I have made it on my own.After I survived Sonny I can pretty much survive anything.
Jax: I know that Reese, but I also know you have been raising a 9 yr old daughter on your own, and you have been living alone. All I am asking is that you stay with me for a couple days, just until you get settled in.
Reese: Just because I am staying for a couple days does not mean I cannot handle myself, because I can and I have been independant most of my life, if not all of it.
Jax: No need to explain. I understand that. I think you need some time just to settle in and get re-adjusted
Reese: Fine Jax.
Reese, Jax, and Katelynn got on his private plane and flew from the NYC to upstate New York, where Port Charles is.
Katelynn: Where are we going? Back to Port Charles? To see Sonny?
Reese: We're going back to Port Charles but not to see your father. We're going to stay with my friend Jax, for now, while I look for a penthouse for just the two of us.
Katelynn: What About Sonny?
Reese: Sonny is your father and always will be but right now you and I need to settle in and find a new penthouse.
When Reese looked over she saw Katelynn asleep.
Reese looked out of the window of the plane, she saw the dark night sky and the lights in the town of Port Charles.
Pilot: 10 minutes till landing, Mr.Jax.
Reese: Gosh, those lights look so pretty. I've never looked at them like this before.
Jax: They're not nearly as pretty as you.
Reese blushes slightly, not even looking in Jax's direction.
Jax: No need to blush, Agent Marshall
He gave her a sly smile
Reese:I just didnt expect the compliment.
Jax: Well, I said it because it is the truth.
Jax sat next to Reese.
He touched her face softly
Jax: I don't even want to talk about your past relationship with Sonny. But I know one thing, he didnt treat you right. I know one thing though, you stood by him when any other woman would have left him. But you're not just any woman, Reese.
Reese: He needed me. He needed me to help him, to help him get through his rough spots.He needed someone to help find his boys, and in the process I fell for him, fell for his dimples.Damn those dimples.
Jax: But Reese
Reese: But what
Jax: But who was ever going to help you. I know about you're son. I bet he never comforted you once about your son. About Evan. It was all about Sonny. It always was and always will be.
Reese: I was a new FBI agent in town, I fell for a mobster because of some stupid dimples. It costed me my career, everything that once mattered.
Jax: But it isnt about Sonny anymore, Reese.
Reese: What do you mean, Jax
Jax: I mean it is about you now, and your daughter but Reese, dont shut out the people who care about you and the people that may fall for you.
Reese could feel the turbulance of the plane as it was getting on the runway for landing.
Katelynn woke up.
Katelynn: Mom, where are we,
Reese: We're in Port Charles.
Reese didnt know what to make out of the conversation she just had with Jax.
Reese, Katelynn and Jax went to his penthouse which was about the size of three penthouses put together.
Jax showed Katelynn an extra bedroom. It had some stuffed animals, Jax had always wanted a son or daughter of his own and he hoped one day he would have one, but Jax didnt think about it much anymore.
Jax showed Reese the spare room next to Katelynn's.
Katelynn was still so tired. Reese tucked her daughter into bed and in a matter of 20 minutes Katelynn was asleep.
Reese took out her suitcase that she had with her in NYC. She had found a pair of sweatpants and a tank top she had never worn while she was there. Reese put it on. She climbed into bed, just looking up at the ceiling she just couldnt sleep.
She went downstairs, and stood in the living room, looking out of the seethrough sliding door. She looked at the lights that lit up the town of Port Charles.
For some reason she felt safe, and there werent body guards around.She just felt safe, knowing Jax wasnt in illegal activity and that he was a good man.
Jax: Couldnt sleep either.
Reese:Oh, I thought you went up to bed.
Jax:I did, but couldnt sleep.
Reese: yeah me too
Their was an awkward silence between them
Jax: I meant what I said in the plane
Reese: Which Part
Jax: Everything. Just so you know, I dont say things unless I truly mean them and I meant every word in that plane, Reese.
Reese:Jax, you dont have to say those things to me just because I am a single mother,raising a 9 year old daughter on my own.
Jax: I want to say them, because I mean it, Reese.
Reese heard loud sounds and when she looked across the city, she saw fireworks. Blue,pink,green,purple, red.
Jax: You want to go wake,Katelynn.
Reese: No, she is so tired and she should sleep and I am right where I want to be with the person I want to be here with.
