Hey everybody,

Just looking back, I can't believe how long it has been since I posted on the site. All I can say is that life's been a little crazy. Since I last posted I have gone through a very difficult pregnancy, gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, lost my mom to a three year fight with cancer, and had a birthday.

I very much want to tell you all how deeply touched I am by your recent well wishes and on-going support of the American Cancer Society. I'm sure that I am not alone in having been witness to a loved one's struggle with cancer. By watching my mom Karin, I have come to realize the true bravery and courage that so many men and women show battling through such a difficult and humbling fight. Any comfort that they can receive, or any hope that can be offered, is so needed and is what makes the American Cancer Society so important.

I also want to personally thank you all for what you do for me. A very regrettably late thank you for your x-mas and birthday wishes and gifts. Enzo was a big recipient of your thoughts. He loves his car, caillou dolls, and reads his story books every night. I could perfectly recite The Three Little Pigs by memory at this point. Eva lays under her baby gym and kicks all the rattles and has a wonderful time. I wish I could thank you all personally but please know that I so appreciate your thoughtfulness, and I truly feel blessed.

That leads me to a difficult subject....my birthday. I guess like every women my age I get less and less excited about my birthdays. This one was especially difficult as I couldn't help waiting to get a special birthday call that I knew could never come. Your cards and wishes made a difficult day a little brighter and I thank you all for them.

Well I'm starting to get used to being a mom of two, and life is getting back to somewhat normal. I'm starting to get back to my pre-pregnancy self and looking forward to getting back in the game and giving you guys something new to hopefully enjoy.

I can't speak much about my on-going legal issues, but I will say that I feel so fortunate to have such great representation. My team heard what had happened and believed in me and the case enough to get behind me as partners in the effort. Again I thank you all for your support and well wishes that you have posted. We have just started depositions, so things are about to get more interesting. Hopefully at some point in the process I can be more open about what happened and why I feel so compelled to act.

I hope you all are not getting bored with re-airs of my older stuff, but hopefully we will have something new in the not too distant future.

Once again, a heartfelt thanks to everyone. Sometimes it's difficult to receive all the love, so please forgive my large fortress that seemingly stands between myself and the rest of the world. The sun can often be a bit blinding. And I wish I could mention you all by name, but the cards were especially meaningful to me and my family. It took me a while to get through them because it has been an extremely painful time, but I love you all for your kind words of encouragement and often humorous birthday wishes....you guys rock. For those of you who have lost someone close to you, your stories have touched me deeply.

Love and kisses to you all,

Kari

Hi Kari,

It’s nice to hear from you.

You are a great actress and an amazing person.

Cancer is a terrible disease. I would like to help in any way that I can in finding a cure to end Cancer. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss once again. My thoughts are with you through this difficult time.

I’m glad Enzo and Eva like their gifts. They are so cute at a young age. They grow up so fast.

I’m glad everyone is doing well.

Can't wait to hear about the new projects that you will do in the near future. Best wishes in whatever you decide to do.

Kari,
It was so wonderful to hear from you, yet completely understandable that it's been a while. With all you've been going through, the incredible happiness and unbearable sorrow, I don't know how you've managed. Somehow though, you make it through, since that's all any of us can do. The American Cancer Society is an organization that is very near and dear to my heart since I've lost several family members to the horrible disease of cancer. I support as much of their efforts as I can. Someday, we will find the cure!

I can only imagine how difficult your birthday was; I thought about you a lot on April 28th. My mom lost her mom on her (my mom's) 35th birthday, so it's always been a bittersweet day. I too know how you look forward to the birthdays less and less; having turned 40 this past year, I can really relate. But, on a positive note, I feel that we as women are just coming into our own and really hitting our stride at 40. You truly have your best stuff ahead of you Kari; and I'm so excited to be along for the ride! I'm proud to be a fan; you truly inspire me in more ways than I can ever express!

I'm so glad that things with the little ones are going so well; I know my sister said it was a big adjustment when she had two babies instead of just the one. Enzo and Eva are two very lucky children to have such a loving mom and dad as you and James are!

Please know that all of us at KWO love you, respect you, admire you, and will support you in whatever you do! Can't wait to see you get back in the game; I know the future is going to be so very bright for you. I know you've probably heard this a million times, but everything does happen for a reason, and your horizons are endless. You are so very talented, and having watched a lot of your past work, it's a testament to that fact!

Thanks for checking in with us; it means a lot! You absolutely rock Kari!

Kari,

It's great hearing from you!!! Once again, I'm sorry about your mom. I'm one of the people who sent you a b-day card. I sent it before I knew what had happened with your mom.

I lost my grandfather to cancer about a year and a half ago. It was totally unexpected that he got cancer and I'm sure it was totally unexpected when your mom got cancer.

On a better note, I'm so happy for you, James ane Enzo that Eva is here now and is healthy!!! I hope that she and the rest of your family.some comfort to you during this terrible time!!

I actually met you here in Albany on Valentine's Day. I bet you don't remember, but I will always remember!!! I look forward to meeting you again someday. We all love you and support you. We always will!! happy.grouphug.gif

Kari,

Thank you for your very sweet and extremely heartfelt message. This has been more that a little difficult period in you life and I so appreciate the time you took to update us and share a little bit of your life with us. I am very happy to hear that Enzo and Eva are happy and well. I'm sure they as well as James are a huge comfort during this very sad period in your life.

We're not going anywhere and never get bored with anything. We're looking forward to your next project from purely a viewpoint of your passion for your work and career.

It's a funny thing about age. It's never a true reflection of your soul. I'll be 42 soon and what the hell is that about. We're only as old as we want to be.

Our loved ones are always alive in our memories and in our hearts. We'll meet them again.

Take care of yourself always. My warmest thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Nice to hear from you. I have read this forum, but this is my first post.

My dad had colon cancer for the last ten years of his life & lived with my family through three operations. We lost him 5 years ago & it is still difficult for my daughters & me.

The American cancer society was a great help & we were speakers at caregiver talks in Chicago. Good luck with this difficult loss.

On a better note, I loved you in Sliders & would like to see you more in other SiFi role. I never had the chance to see you on GH.

Take care,

It is great to hear from you Kari. I 'm so glad that your life is coming back together. For a while now i've missed you. In these past months i've purchased several of your movies and watched you when ever they showed you on t.v. I have prayed for you and your family. I wish you the best of luck with the lawsuit. Although i'm still a fan of that show. I miss your presence but i support everything you are doing.
I have just finished my first year of college. It was tough and i'm so looking forward to the summer. I owe thanks to you because truthfully i wouldn't have made it without you. Your great works of art have helped me . I would listen to your CD every night before i went to sleep and it made whatever happen during the day that wasn't so bright seem as if it would be alright. Sometimes i cried myself to sleep while other times i just wanted to get up and get on this site.

I wanna thank you for making an impact on my life that will never be forgotten. I'm sure that what ever you put your mind to it will be great . I'm looking forward to any of your future work. I can certainly bet that it will also be brialliant because it's what you do. That's how you roll you'z Kool like that. Know what i'm saying? LOL that's little bit of my down south slang. Forgive me for being a little ghetto.

GOD Bless You and Your Family.

I too seem to have missed this thread as well...

First of all, Ms. Wuhrer, a very happy birthday, happily with a new child... I was very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Having lost my own grandmother to cancer, and a researcher at a cancer research laboratory in New York, and I know how difficult the disease is on several levels...

I wanted to once again thank you for graciously allowing me an interview for my Hellraiser: Prophecy fan film at Chiller Theatre in NJ last year... Just FYI, your segment will appear in our "making-of", entitled DEMONS TO OTHERS, and you are in the Special Thanks in our fan film... (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805545/ under "Other Crew") biggrin.gif

Once again, many thanks and best wishes for the next year. (P.S. Your legal issues sound like they're a slam dunk! Go get 'em!)

Warm regards,

Hello everyone and Kari.

First post here. I'm sitting home today looking to snooze on the couch and I turn on TNT and "Eight Legged Freaks" is on. I check it out because I've never seen it. I have to admit, I liked it. I laughed alot and it kept my attention in a fun, campy way. I also have to say that Kari was very believable as a mom and as her character.........unlike some of the people acting in that movie......but I digress. Which lead me to go on Yahoo and read up on the movie.......and then Kari.

I have to admit I'm behind the times because I haven't seen many of the movies or shows that Kari has been in. But as a hot blooded 41 year old American male......(just kidding)......I've always known who she was/is. Just stating the obvious that she is very beautiful/sexy as always. Some women just have it........and that's not a bad thing. And reading about her two children explains why she was so believable as a mom in that movie.

Anyway, after watching that movie, it struck me as strange that she hasn't gotten a chance at some better roles in bigger movies. That is not a slam on Kari, but an honest opinion that I think directors/producers/casting agents need to give her a look.

I didn't realize that Kari could sing very well. Which caught my attention.

I got amicably divorced last year (regrettably, because of my 2 daughters)......and after the divorce I started writing movies. One of my movies is about a 40 year old guy who gets divorced, hangs out at bars, starts singing karaoke (sounds like my life), and through a series of strange events gets recruited to sing in a rock band with some 20-somethings (just the kind of original, oddball, yet true to life movie Hollywood loves.....and independent films). Anyway.........when you're writing a movie script (using Scriptbuddy)........alot of times you envision certain actors/actresses in certain roles. In my movie/script........the 40 year old ends up falling for one of his young bandmates divorced mother (which causes some friction), who is a former rock singer herself. You can see where I'm going with this. So, here I see Kari playing a mom in "Eight Legged Freaks" and then come to this site and refresh my memory that she is a singer........and let's just say as I finish writing this movie, I will have a hard time not envisioning Kari in this role.

And no........this is a not a true life experience but a funny extreme take on a "what-if" situation slightly based on my life right now. My ex-wife has an incredible singing voice. I wrote a song for our wedding and we went in the studio to record it 12 years ago and she made me feel like my singing voice sucked. So for the next 11 years, I pretty much never sang. Then we get divorced. I go out to a sports bar one night for dinner and to watch sports and this guy sets up for karaoke and it's ladies night (Monday night - go figure). I went up and sang and got great reviews. For the last 13 months I've been singing like crazy and as humble as I can be, found out I can actually sing pretty damn well........being told by nearly everyone I could front a band.......including being told by a couple of guys in traveling bands that I could do a better job as the lead singer for their band then the one they got. I like singing everything from 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, Fuel, Staind, Gavin Degraw, Lenny Kravitz to country music (more pop country) like Lonestar, Phil Vassar or country rock like Montgomery Gentry or Brooks and Dunn. I had one guy try to start a band........said he had a 2 guitar players, a drummer, a bass player, and wanted me to play keyboards and sing. It's been crazy. But I got 2 daughters that I spend alot of time with and a band would take me away from them. Anyway......went off on a tangent about myself but wanted to explain my movie idea and how I spotted Kari and envision her playing the lead actress. Ha!!!!

Just had to get that off my chest. I'm impressed with Kari. She needs some chances at bigger roles. I definitely think she could handle it.

Take care,

Eric

Hi all -
My name is Cari also - and I found this site after seeing Prophecy:The Forsaken the other nite on SciFi (I'm a 51 yr old SciFi female who has the "refuse to grow up" syndrome).

I have been a fan of Kari's for many years, watched anything that had her in it and loved loved her look - various hair styles, body - the works! (My husband feels the same!!!) I'm only 5' 1", but we're very similar in build.

Anyway - after seeing her the other nite - i was shocked to see what, for me, was missing. I read her Glamour interview (2002) and got the whole story - I still can't believe I didn't know about it all these years.

Kari - if you ever read this - let me just say that I wish I had been able to make the same decision you did in '02. From an "A" in 1980, to a "B/C" in the 90s and now (just this past month, in fact) - out of necessity - to a "D" - I couldn't downsize or remove without a LIFT.

May not sound so bad to you guys out there - but what I wouldn't give to be back to my little self! And for many of the same reasons.

Anyway - from one Cari to another - I'm happy to have had the opportunity to read all that you've been up to - health/family/children/ love(s) -

And as for this site - excellent - well done -
My best -
Cari
