Wow, watching GH on Friday for some reason got me thinking about Kari. I realized how long it had been since I had been here and stopped by. While reading thru the threads, I realized I'm a bit masochistic. I tend to dwell on things that I lost, or that ended, etc. "Reese" on GH, and lately Mt. Airy has been on my mind.

My family had gone there a couple of times each year from 1969 until the 80's, and a few times after that. I became close with some of the people up there, and very attached to them as well as the resort. As my 3 children got older (and my husband was never interested in the Poconos) we just stopped going. But 2 years ago, everything was auctioned off (several years after it closed down).

For our 2005 vacation we stayed at Bushkill Falls, PA. We drove to Mt. Airy, and it ended up being in the middle of demolition (making way for a new casino to be built). How very, very depressing. Afterward I was moved to do something, and that ended up starting a blog. I've yet to get all my pics up there (got a couple of decades of pics to scan), but it's a start. Haven't had any posters yet, but I thought in case there's anyone else here like me, I would share it.
